Cheap? CM Hyper 212 Evo. Expensive? The BeQuiet Dark Rocks are damn good. Noctuas are excellent also. AIO? Corsair H105, H110 both excellent.

There's lots of options out there to fit any budget.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Well I know how I would make it work. You have space in that case, especially in the top.

You could use an H60 or H80 as well if you want simpler mounting.

around 50 to 100 dollars

Is your cpu overclocked?

I don't recommend AIO units unless it is 240mm or more.

If you case allows , go for the arctic cooling Freezer i30 . I have the same CPU on a Z97-A , idling at 36-38.C , while under a gaming load ( DoTa 2 WoT , etc... might not be the best representative of the temps ul get ) the highest i have seen is 44.C .

Also @ stock

On newegg its 40$ . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186058&cm_re=i30_Freezer-_-35-186-058-_-Product

That's impressive, every Arctic Cooling unit I've ever tested has either broken on install or had massive fitment issues.

Good to see that when they work they at least work well.

Bad luck maybe ? Iv had the AMD version in my old rig for 1 year + its still the quietest thing in the system . My friends have a couple of Alpine Pros also no issues ..

You can easily fit a 240mm rad up top, but you'll need to be creative with the fans. If I can find some pictures of my Ostrog build I can show you a creative way to do it with very little room.

I don't recommend AIO units unless it is 240mm or more.

Why so? AIO units can push hot air directly out of case.

They are louder and air coolers can outperform single 120mm units. Once you reach 240mm units do air coolers have competition.

Do you really need an AIO tho ?

Unless you plan on 4.6+ , there are plenty of aircoolers out there below the 163mm limit ...

Off the top of my head : katana 4 , freezer 13 / 13 CO , Frio silent 12 , 212 EVO , TX3 etc ...

I can`t complain about my AIO, but if i had a air cooler then I`d be screwed due to bad airflow ( At least my AIO dumps most of hot air out of case ).

They may be beneficial in mITX cases, but I would prefer to use (if either air cooler or 120mm AIO) an air cooler in an mATX or ATX case.

All depends on how far you plan to push it , and at what voltages ... tho i dont have experience with how the chip handles when OCed , im sure there are much more experienced people around to help you out with that ..

As far AIO vs Air Cooler , id settle for the biggest aircooler you can fit .. simply because of this :

1. Less complex than AIOs to install , and do maintenance ( dust .... )

2. Less complex also means less failure points . While an AIO can suffer from bent radiator fins to pump failures , the only thing that will fail on an aircooler is the fan itself ...

3. Bigger air coolers usually perform to a degree of less expensive AIOs , or in some cases , better.

Buuut there are cons too :

1. Size. Not all air coolers fit in all cases ... yours could possibly fit a NH-D14 but will only leave 3 mm of free space ...

2. heat output is a thing with aircoolers , since like most of the GPUs , they blow the heat into the case , rather exhausting it directly out ..

3. Tied with 2# , depending on your cases airflow capabilities , you will get better or worse results ..

So as i said , its IMHO , better to stick with whatever fits your case and budget ...
