What are your opinions. I'm looking to get a Macbook Pro for my Fiancee. she really wants a mac.

This is the non retina 2011 macbook pro with a 15 inch screen.

sandy bridge i7, 2.4ghz. 16gb ram and a 500gb hdd. It's in nearly perfect condition, the guy wants $600 for it, do you think that's a good deal?

Please don't fill the comments with stuff saying how she can get a better pc cheaper..or anything like that.. I've been a working in IT for years now and I know this....

I'm just not much of a mac guy lol

Thanks

Yup I have pretty much the same Mac with 2.8 GHz, and a 13" screen. It's only worth $400 apparently but I feel like I could get $800 if I found the right person...

The cheapest 15" MBP is $2000 (a rMBP).

$600 is too much though imo.

Sounds good to me; wouldn't expect anymore or any less.

MacBook's keep their value pretty well, $600 is around what that spec would go for.

Ridiculouos price.

It's not. Really.

Contrary to other laptops, except some thinkpads, it doesn't fall to pieces after 2 years. And since it's Apple and still fully supported it keeps it's value really well.

even though the display isn't rentia, its still nice as hell. It rapes my 1080P monitor in quality. Id recommend getting a SSD to throw in there. you can take out the disk drive and go dual hard drives. even the older I7, with a ssd the system feels just as fast as any new computer.

for 600$ its a pretty solid deal.

I make enough to buy one of these every 2 weeks for a year and it wouldn't matter, my wallet doesn't care.

I'm buying it for a good reason so please explain how I'm being ripped off?

exactly. the late 2011s actually have a mobo issue where they can get damaged from heat. My buddy rendered on his, so last year his mobo failed from the 100% usage constantly. he paid like 200$ to get it fixed. apple just issued a recall, and he got a check for full reimbursement. I can't think of any other company that would do that. let alone issue a recall on a product thats 4 years old(tech anyway)
