Existing parts come with overheating protection like throttling or shutdown

But if you've old parts... they'll be killed 2 death

Worst thing would be reduced lifespan, but they shouldn't straight up burn-out thanks to throttling. I would say throttling would be second worse. or maybe throttling would be the main one given it is more immediate and more likely to occur, hmmmmmmm.
