I'm building a new PC, but it seems a bit pricey.

Title kinda says it all. Building a PC, I plan to buy it on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but it's a lot more expensive than I expected. Most people I ask tell me that $700-$1,500 is a good price to shoot for, but so far, my build clocks in at $2787.70...

 

I'm not really sure what I could safely downgrade. I want it to be able to run new games on high or ultra-high for at least a year or two, and all of the parts I picked seemed like the best out of everything recomended to me. Any downgrades to recomend? Should I even be worried about this price? (it's within my budget but I'll always jump at the chance to grub a bit more money)

 

Also, if it's not too much trouble, I'm not sure what case/monitor/keyboard/mouse ect ect I should go with. Periferals and all. Any recomendations in that field would be welcome.

You could downgrade :

Mobo,

Storage

monitor ( 1440p 60hz ? if you want )

keyboard ( by a lot, get the non led version, I got mine for 80$ )

cpu

etc

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Is it just for gaming?Or will you be doing rendering and game streaming also?

What do you plan on using it for and why do you need 4 TB's of storage, that is a hell of a lot of storage?  If you are only using that drive for storage it is a waste getting a WD Black, as you don't need extra performance just to store files or whatever.

 

Peripherals are mostly preference, so I don't think anyone can help you there.

 

Also the 980 ti can run 1440p resolutions at like 120 fps, but you got a 60 fps monitor, so either get a better monitor, or get a cheaper video card imo.  What games do you plan on playing?

 

Also, you gotta give us a budget of some kind.

 

This is what I came up with the little amount of info given.  Saved some money on the CPU, storage, motherboard, PSU, GPU.  I would personally either go with the 1080p, 144 hz monitor that I picked, or a 1440p, 60hz monitor, but like I said the 980 TI is overkill for either of those options.  It is meant for 1440p, 120+ hz, or 4k, both of which the monitors are extremely expensive. So if you want that you gotta dish out the cash to get it.  Early adopter's fee and what not.

I think that the 980ti is actually a bit overkill for the 1440p 60hz monitor.   I mean witcher 3 is one of the more intensive games and it's getting 66 at max settings on that, you could be hitting 90-100+ on some games and would actually get a lot out of a G-sync monitor.
