Very good point, ya if people just knew it was coming and could just hold off till it gets better I could see us getting through it no problem. Everyone though seems like they are going to take advantage of the situation just like the riots... I guess we will see but I'm tired of hearing people talk about it right in front of me then when I ask they say "what are you talking about?" And that's what scares me. Oh well I guess I just need to make loosing my virginity a first priority now. :D

 

I started laughing here, then I went full retard on the next...

 

I was just contemplating whether or not forcing the economic collapse of the USA could/should be forced.  I don't think current political bodies would do it, I don't even think a lot of them get it.

 

Imagine the USA defaults on their debt.  Now, imagine that China/Europe say... you know what?  We are not gonna start a war over your debt, we are done.  Fix yo' shit.  The USA is sanctioned as far as international trade and the global community looks upon them in shame.  China/Europe further say, your debt is clear.  Now what happens?

 

This is an ideal situation...  for a proper economic recovery.  Avenues for international revenue are toast for the USA.  What choice do they have?  Canada will continue to be a very positive force for the US economy.  It is not much, but better than nothing.  Mexico might help too, but don't ignore a real possibility they would turn their backs.

 

So, you have your people and your land.  Good freakin' deal!  The current scummy greedy "capitalists", I am talking about corrupt systems of capitalism, lose all their power.  People have no choice but to work together to live.  The bad guys will yell the the end is upon us!  All is lost.  This is called dramatic overture.  They are just dumb, and really believe what they are saying.

 

...I don't know, I am going to end up writing a speculative essay here.... Let's round out...

 

A few riots here and there.  Communities localize and the activist-type gatherings become more meaningful and prove to be useful... contrary to a lot of rhetoric against activists.

 

People catch on that it is in fact "not over"... there is still life, a good one.

 

Government is humbled by it's people.

 

A new future erupts, the recover is in the history books.

 

bleh... should not have rushed it... but you may get the picture... a lot can happen that you don't expect.  How many people know the difference between what is inherently valuable and what is ideologically empowered to be valuable?  It is kind of important.

All you guys out there saying that we're paranoid tinfoil hat-wearers, No. We're not tinfoiling nearly as much as you think we are. This stuff will happen eventually and a lot of it is happening today. Because the bastards in power do not have the mental capacity to learn from the past and how all empires have turned out, they will eventually fall, and they're going to fall with a really loud bang because of how huge they are. Military retaliation against ordinary folk for rising up against the government, rebellion against the federal government (as is supposed to be our right as US citizens) seen as terrorism, pretty soon we're going to have the fall of Rome on our hands again, only this time it will be a thousand times worse.

This is why the end of the Civil War really screwed us over. It absolutely trashed this country. Now, I'm not talking about the slavery issue, I have no problems with that, that has nothing to do with the matter I'm talking about. The Civil War was not about freeing the slaves, let us be perfectly clear about that. Freeing the slaves was the nice, positive aftereffect of the Civil War. What was actually on the table was the power of the States to secede from the Union. Before the Civil War, the State governments had all the power, they were almost distinguishable as their own countries, the federal government was just there to represent the States as a single country. After the Civil War, the Federal government assumed jurisdiction, veto, whatever powers they wanted, over the State government. The states are almost powerless now, but what happened is that it completely splintered America into factions that work together as a country because the federal government won't tolerate secession, but at their core they loathe and hate each other's guts. The founding fathers likely knew all about this and that's why this country has the theoretical freedoms it has, before the Civil War, there was almost no threat of overtake of the entire country by a single authority because the single authority had no power over all the states, they deferred mostly to the state government, and any state that felt that its freedoms were being trampled on could retaliate the very next day. This country's government is splintering itself and the nation from the inside out, and that organization will die screaming it's lungs out. When it does, you want to be either as far away from this country as you possibly can, or a member of a substantially large church organization, preferably one that has a global presence. Those organizations will be the only ones standing in america when the government collapses.

Then I read a quote by Snowden. "Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say".

I really have to push the idea of a more intelligent military.  The US has such a big army, and a massive police force(that seems to only get bigger).  Having smarter enforcers will help prevent socially catastrophic breakdowns.  You know, like cops that know that risking their lives IS part of the job... I don't mean super intelligent or anything, just basic rationale.

US cops dont respect the badge, so how can you expect that from the criminals? Cops duty is not to be intelligent but respected. Here practically every cop on patrol can be part of the 'swat' team.

So ive seen a talk by Tom Scott a while ago, about how for every little bit of luxury we get into our lives, we give up a little bit of our privacy. And he is right. Everything new that turns up collects some sort of data about us. And it may seem harmless. So what if google knows what i like to eat you might think. But then, when its all compiled into one big database, they can pretty much compile a complete profile of you, build a 3d model of you, used for facial recognition, if they want. Its not hard, with most of our lives on FB/Twitter/WE...

 

And im scared of that. But its too late to stop it.

 

Anyhow, your thoughts? And please, if you have the time, see the talk, its really good.
