Post your Good Ghetto mods

On an AMD system? You've got balls mate.

Back then AMD chips were far better than the ones now, so there's that.

And this was a 733MHz PIII anyways. :P

Yeah sorry, that's just me assuming all clip-on heatsinks are AMD, which wasn't always true.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

I figured I'm not the only person who has taken functionality over form in the case of their computer, and devised up some redneck engineering.  I'd like to see what some of this community has done!

My personal submission, to start this off, is my personal computer.  My computer only has two audio ports, one on the front panel and one on the back of the motherboard.  I hooked my ATH-M40x into the back, and tried to hook up my speakers into the front.  Unfortunately the wire was too short and it got in the way.  This was my solution (don't mind the quality, they were taken with my phone):

My 770 looks exactly the same, not an issue. The actual bending is very slight.

Although it does droop a bit, the picture is a little crooked.

Why wouldn't you just plug the headphones in the front and the speakers in the back? Seems like an easier solution to me.

Edit: Second thought, I don't even know what the picture is showing. Is the headpdhone cable going through the case to the front by going through an open expansion slot and an open 5.25" bay? I don't get it.

You're not going to get that result with that little bit of GPU sag.

This is GPU sag:

His is barely sagging if at all.

My front port is quite noisy, and when I'm using my headphones I don't like that, but when I'm playing music out loud it doesn't bother me.

@byalexandr Holy shit that's one heavy graphics card xD

Leave it to ASUS to make a big ass card that still cools like shit.

Weird sized fan died in the weird sized PSU.  Dremelled the case, drilled some holes, and screwed a standard 80mm to the outside.  No kids and no indoor pets, so finger / paw safety isn't an issue.

What is the most ghetto thing you have ever done when Building a PC?

I have an Anet A8 as my project printer and a i3 MK3 for when I want things to work.

I extrude my own filament and haven't saved a penny yet.

Took an old dell psu and a lenovo slim one and spliced them together for my server build. I needed different connectors, longer wires, and more sata power haha!

zipties on fan holes, had no screws

Broke side panel window, wrapped it in vegatable wrap

I put a Noctua NH-D15 on a Micro ATX board. Also my board was not compatible according to Noctua so I put electrical tape on my Graphics Card so I didn't short the gpu

Taking a pci backplate (the thing you with holes and screws) and welding it onto another case to get the gpu sideways for better airflow :D

Would have been ghettoer if i used hot glue. I also cut a hole in the sidepanel to increase the total airflow. Dust was a BIG problem. I also had to bend the power connector at a ridiculous angle... But that system is long gone now because i upgraded.
