SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!

Anywho, the closest thing I have to a ghetto setup in my SSD, which is hanging off one screw in my optical drive bay.

  • 1 month later...

Hi!

I thought this would be a quite interesting and amusing thread to read, so why not post it.

Post your "ghettoed it" things (pictures are nice), tell something about the story behind it. I personally didn't "ghetteo" anything yet, but I probabbly will my HDD...my GPU is too big for the case and I cant remove the HDD cages so why not ducktape the HDD somewhere...

Longboarders/ skaters message me!

My landline connection isn't fast enough for doing any good video streaming, so I use my phone's unlimited data plan with FoxFi.

I've also found out that it almost works well enough for GRID. There's too much packet loss but without using FoxFi it's far worse for whateve reason.

And also eats through my 4GB/month official tethering.

More ghetto:

I almost cut a hole in my case so I could fit my graphics card in another PCI slot.

Sig under construction.

My old GTX 570 had a huge accelero xtreme 3 on there. it was so heavy it caused the PCB to droop. i supported it by tying one end of gardening wire to the heatsink and suspending it from the hard drive cage

The mouse pad for my mouse is a carrying case for a laptop, and then to keep my keyboard from wobbeling, I put 4 pieces of cardboard under it :D

The mouse pad for my other mouse is a random blank A4 paper, that I replace every once in a while :P

I used tape to cable manage the PSU cables in my case because I didn't have any cable ties.

ive moved a friends former brebuild pc (hes got a proper build now) in some crappy Aerocool case.

the PSUs 4-pin cpu cable wasnt long enough so i used an 6+2 pin gpu-power extender i had lying around

simply cut two pins from the 6 pin and crushed it in the 4pin on the mobo

worked very well for the last year :D

Awesome thread idea! I'm on my Kindle, but I'll post some pictures later of my old ghetto rigged PC before I got all fancy with it.

Never did figure out a decent way of mounting my SSD's, and was too pissed off at my H100i to even remove it from the case when the pump failed. It sat in there for pry 6 months until I rebuilt into the H440.
