Pet peeves when it comes to people building PCs

ANewFace

People, who use the stock cooler on a unlocked CPU.

People who don't have good airflow in there system.

People who just buy the cheapest PSU they find with the right amount of wattage

People who try and get more ram because they say it'll make there PC faster.

People who no matter what budget $400-$5000 always say SQEEUZE AN SSD IN. SSDs should not be in builds $1000 or less. You are sacrificing performance and quality to me. $1100 and above is fine.

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. YES

4. Aka everyone 12 and younger who builds a PC

5. Yes 100% agree

For number one, I wholeheartedly agree; as for number seven, maybe the i3 would beat the FX, at least in apps that use 4 cores/threads.

True. My FX 8370 would kill the i3 in FL Studio, though :)

You are on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know.

1. because it's a waste

2. Because that a lie and you can

1. I would still pick a sexy cases even if it spends more money then the rest of the components. And you do realized when building a pc its not just a one time thing. The reason people build them is for upgrading it and make its sexy. If I need i would buy a 900D and then put a GTX 750. Just so i can have room to put in a Titan X when i get the money for it.

2.What if your parents give you $800 cash and not a cent more? What if you broke af? The whole point of a budget is to not spend more money then planned. When people ask for help and they give a strict budget, you should tell them something that fits the price or not tell them at all. Yea it might give you 5 Frames better but whats the point if you have to ask people for money.

I was going to buy the lian-li mITX case, the one with the glass side panel thats $380 or so. Although the only sfx PSUs available weren't the best for a gtx 980 ti. So I've changed my mind.

The Pentium G3258 builds we see with an H100i or NH-D15 make me die laughing every time.

You will hate this http://pcpartpicker.com/b/7rgLrH

That's fucking retarded. I could keep my G3258 cool fine on the bundled stock cooler, but hey, a $300 case, $100 in fans and fan controllers, $200 in waterblocks, $240 in radiators, $300 in tubing and fittings, and dude was able to get his G3258 100MHz faster than mine!

I can't stand seeing a cheap storage drive in a build costing over a thousand dollars. For me it's like seeing someone put a restrictive cheap paper air filter in a sports car.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

128-256gb is not a lot,to start out with. I myself could, feel that up,with just a couple,of games. Best way for me personally is a 1TB HDD starting out then a 256gb later on with s fresh install,of windows. Everyone is different but heavier users like myself, would, easily fill that up.

I have about 2.5 TB taken up on my main system.

More like a sports car with a weak fuel pump. It goes once the pressure is built up but takes a while to start. ;)

So in school (yes I go to primary but I'm extremely mlg swaginator) I mess about on PCPP. Guy comes up to me, "Oh I saw you doing this the other day. Could you build one for me?"

Me: "What games do you want to play" Him "lists games like Fallout 4 etc etc GTA V etc etc" Me: "What's your budget man?" Him: "$200"

Me: *blink*

People using Pentium G3258s or the 4GB 960

people who don't get an r9 285 if they have the budget

What's wrong with the G3258?

Why the R9 285 specifically?

4GB 960 - I agree.

I've always felt as the G3258 was pointless as hell unless you used it as a beginner's overclocking chip.

R9 285s are cheap as hell now - you can get them for $170, even the ITX model.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

. Only thing wrong with the G3258 is that some games won't allow them. GTA as an example. I rarely see 285s, when I was shopping for my GPU it was 280xs and 290s.

RGB accessories annoy me in general, most of them get set to one colour and then left.

RGB always adds a price premium and I wish manufacturers would either get rid of most of this premium or just sell everything in lots of different single colours (like Ducky sell red, blue, green, white, etc... keyboards and you just pick a colour and stick with it).

-edit-

Also, people who hate on W8.1, the start screen is the just the best (even on desktop).

-another edit-

People who say optical drives are pointless now. What if I want to rip some old CDs or stick on a DVD? What if I have a load of games and software that's still on disc? Maybe 5.25" drives are out, but it's still worth having a USB one lying around, I still use a USB floppy drive if I just want to store 1 file and not have to waste a whole large drive on it (ie. site account info).

People who get 60gb SSDs just for the OS drives me crazy.

120GB is the minimum for that I reckon, 240GB preferred.

I like rgb because it gives you the option of changing colors if you end up changing your color scheme of your build. Like right now my build is black and green, but I'll be switching to white and blue in a month or so.

I do have a 60GB SSD for my OS and it's not really a problem, though I agree I wouldn't buy a 60GB drive (got my SSD for free so I don't really care!)
