HELP: 90% ram usage in idle! 16gb

LarsReviews
Go to solution Solved by Daegun,

It isn't there after restarting, it always happens after a while.

The installation is brand new, just did it yesterday.

WTF! I had that issue with chrome before I reinstalled my PC, that is why I switched to Firefox in the first place?

Ah, I remembered what it was. It was Firefox together with the ethernet drivers for my motherboard, they caused the non-paged pool to grow. I had the msi z87i gaming ac. I updated the drivers and everything went back to normal after that.

So I did a clean install of windows and now this shit is happening again. I get crazy ram usage. I have no idea what is causing the issue. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. Could my ram be broken?

You just need to download more ram mate. http://downloadmoreram.com/16 GB doesn't cut it anymore.

Jk. No idea.

My Pc: Cpu: I7 4790k @ 4,8 Ghz @1,25 volts, Motherboard: Maximus VII Formula, Graphicscard: 2x Titan X @1,4 at stock voltage (soon to be replaced), Ram: 32 gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 Cl 9, SSD: 2x 850 Pro 1 Tb in Raid 0, 2x Samsung 840 Evo 1 tb raid 1,, PSU: Corsair HXi Series 1000W 80+ Platinum, Case: H440. Soon to be watercooled again, maybe, probably, the Titans are too loud.

8.1 is the problem.

Go back to XP.

The size is set to 5884MB. I didn't start CCleaner yet, because it is a new system and I guessed it would be clean.

Sorry but reinstalling windows would probably be the best bet since that will get rid of all bloatware, then install only the key things needed. I dont download many things nor do i keep a lot running in the background so its always butter smooth....Sorta lol

I can't remember what the solution was for me, but I had the same problem. Ridiculously large non-paged ram pool, it's up to 13gb in your picture. It had something to do with firefox though, if that helps at all.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

did you try to create a very huge picture in gimp with e.g. 30000*30000 or more? so gimp will eat a lot of memory and if you do it know, you can see if you can push the system to do this or not

just had to do a restart, because I wanted to test if the Killer network suite is causing the issue.

I disabled the Killer App startup. Seems to be OK for now, but I want to wait a bit longer, just to make sure.

yes, this was it. Got a new driver off the Killer website, instead of the gigabyte site. No more problems! :)
