Project Quantum design for VR packs two 9.5″ liquid-cooled Fiji GPUs into its unique looking chassis.

Also AMD revealed Affinity MultiGPU where one chip powers one eye is exactly what this is all about.

From the video we can see that it is using an intel CPU, however this could be just a test platform

From this picture we can see that they are using 1 gpu card and will be using xfire  with a PCIe riser with x8 x8

1:45 is that  an external PSU ??  :|

couldnt they fit an SFX some where or even water cool it :/

That's great if the price is acceptable, but if it has an AMD cpu those graphics cards will be bottlenecked... it will still be a beast, but it would be a bit of a shame. But I do understand they probably don't have a choice - showing that even they use intel might be the final blow to the fx lineup.

How? Its dual gpu, with a high end cpu.

in that form factor with all the custom cooling done on it? its going to cost a pretty penny.

You're right. It also has intel ethernet now that I look at it ^^ that's good. I hope the price is right.

It's bloody HUGE.. And ugly (looks like a lamp from the 70's)

 

Ok, they built it to handle VR BUT for 4k tv (what they were saying they want it for)... Gimmie a shield.

Based on 1:06+ in the video... Looks like it is using an ASRock Z97E motherboard.

So, it is probably running an i7 CPU paired with the dual Fury X GPUs.

 

Looked like one of those OCZ "AMD" SSDs on the bench in one frame as well.  As far as I can tell, those are up to 480 GB drives.  Looks like two sticks of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 as well.  So 8 or 16 GB of memory?
