PC Exclusive Graphics for Character Models are SUBPAR.

Before anyone says I'm a console fanboy , I have 2 GTX 980s and game on PC quite a bit.

 

I just looked at the screenshots for Uncharted 4 .

The DETAIL on the faces . Seriously how is this running realtime on a GTX 660 Equivalent . Why don't I have this on any of my PC games. I thought we had better machines.

 

Can someone name me a game coming in 2016 for PC that will have better character models. Please I'm just amazed how this is even possible on such a low spec machine.

This is probably (slightly?) pre rendered stuff.

Also, the consoles are not equivalent to a GTX 660.. They are lower.

 

And third thing: have you ever tried modded Skyrim? You can achieve this level of detail.

I have a strict belief that naughty dog has programs taken from other galaxies. Alien gods sent down to give the people beautiful games.

 

But to be fair that clearly a cutscene, even if in engine they did the same thing with the last of us and they made ps3 last of us cutscenes look better than most ps4 games. They can surely do the same here.

They confirmed its Real-time cutscenes . Not Prerendered.

I asked if any PC game coming out in 2016 can look like that in terms of character models.

Even if it's not pre-rendered, they're performing special tricks to make sure that they're loading the least excess possible and stuff like that.

It has come out already, Witcher 3.

It's cutscenes look just as good as Uncharted 4 or Uncharted collection's cutscenes.

But I believe its real-time . If you have played Uncharted Games before you know that during Pre-rendered cutscenes that there are flashes of black in between cuts.

Heres the "gameplay" trailer... Theres no way the final game is gonna look like this on a PS4, this is probably running on a Dev-PC with dual Titans. :P

Doesn't make my complaint any less valid. 

Why don't we have Character Models that look like that in PC games. I mean seriously , I'm kinda sad that a less than GTX 660 has a game that has better character models than my SLI 980s in 2016.

You misunderstood me, I mean real time cutscene. And just like uncharted 2-3 and the last of us, the games cutscenes will strongly outweigh the gameplay's graphics. It's not even going to be that close. In fact at some point a naughty dog excecutive stated that the ps4 version of the last of us (before it was released) will have graphics like the cutscenes of ps3 version of the last of us. It's just some cutscene trickery. It's amazing trickery but still trickery.

 

And to answer you question of why pc developers don't do that? Well because really only naughty dog does this. They have all the time and the money in the world to do what they want. Why do you think their games always lead the way when it comes to graphics? oh and aliens help.

Naughty Dog always delivers in terms of Visuals. 

E3 2009 Uncharted 2 , No downgrade.

E3 2011 Uncharted 3 , No downgrade.

Dude , I have Witcher 3 running at 4K Ultra , no the Character Models specifically are not up to par and I don't expect that from and Open world game to challenge a more linear game. 

 

I can grab in game screenshots of 4K Downsampled geralt's face and put them side by side next to Nathan if you want.

He has way more detail.

Somethings gotta give if its not the visuals its gonna be resolution or framerate. Just look at the trailer... 5:00 for example - the grass density / detail is insane. Or at 5:30 when they are driving through the mud and the tires leave tracks... And just the lighting and sheer amount of physics - I believe it when i see it. :P

But we are comparing a game's in game visuals and comparing it to a game that is not out yet and we don't even know if this is in game or in game engine (AKA cutscenes)

I'd agree with you but Look at my above post and compare Naughty Dog's E3 Showcase to The Gameplay footage of the Actual game they Released , They don't do downgrades.

Also I titled the Topic Character Models for a reason. I'm asking more in terms of why aren't we pushing more polygons for PC games to have that kind of character model detail if we have more Horsepower.
