My computer isn't hot enough

My heater died and it's f**king freezing in my house, so i figured I would clock my CPU as high as I can without causing stability issues and fold for a while, but my problem is my computer isn't outputting enough heat. I actually want to make it overheat a little so I can be warm but I don't think there is much more I can do without causing it to crash every few minutes which will mean more cold for longer

 

 

Anyone have any ideas to practically overheat my computer without seriously overheating it?

How about instead of trying to do damage to your 300$ CPU, you just buy something like this?

depends on cpu cooler. if good cooler, you can output tonnes of heat out of heatsink fast.

so get better cpu cooler and overclock

You could try cooking a roast to warm up the house. My oven warms up my house so quick. 

Actually using your computer as a heater is pretty impractical. A computer is designed to not waste energy as heat. It just happens.

If you're real desperate if you have any Computers or PS3 or Xbox or anything you can slap a game in and get it to make some heat.

Not really, get more gpus maybe?

 

I notice that when it's cold my computer doesn't really bring up the temperature of the room very much, at least not quickly anyway, but when the ambient temps are warm it makes the room unbearable very quickly.

You're probably better off finding something that's built to output heat as it's primary function and using that.

 

ex: toaster, blow drier, oven, etc.

 

In those cases though, DON'T leave them unattended.

 

You're CPU will never get to 100 degrees C and be stable, so other sources that can get hotter are going to be way better

Well first of all close the door of your room. Also try to do something GPU intensive as that will also create quite some heat. Maybe just run a synthetic benchmark at maximum resolution in loop :).

Prime95, Aida 64, Intel Burn Test and MSI Kombustor at the same time should do the trick.

If the CPU is and GPU are already at 100% is there going to be any "benefit" to running multiple stress tests?

Any stress testing software.  Your sig says your 3770k is at 5.1GHz with a 212 Evo, it must be pretty hot already so Prime95 should be pushing 90°C giving you enough heat.

I think this is a really really really stupid idea. Why would you want your pc to do this heating shit on your computer. If you use it to heat your house, it may just fry something.
