Is my pc build correct and balanced

Go to solution Solved by stconquest,

@Ethan supabass

I made a small mistake on the motherboard.  It was fine, but was missing one thing:  a USB 3.0 header.  You could use it, but the front USB 3.0 port on the case will not be USB 3.0 compliant.

I switched it up a bit.

You would have to change the motherboard to get all the advantages of the K-Series CPU (overclocking using a multiplier).  When I plan my PC I usually spend the extra for a CPU like this.... BUT... I still have not overclocked mine.  This is as cheap as it gets:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($286.95 @ Vuugo)

Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($92.98 @ Newegg Canada)

Total: $379.93

Intel just released their new CPU line, but it is really expensive.  It will be months before prices come down.  I don't know if you want to wait.

I went over budget a little because I assume that by the time I buy it the price will be lower

Awesome!

That gives you time to research, learn about the parts and watch the market (prices).  Things will change.  The new Intel CPUs have integrated graphics almost as powerful as a GTX 750/R9 260.

They are not that powerful.  It is a step forward towards not needing a discrete GPU at all.

The CPU and GPU are on the same chip.  The GPU takes up have of the space on the new CPU.

They are good for tablets especially, laptops too.

Is the intergraded gpu the reason that the new cpu is so expensive
