I want the base to have some heft to it so that it won't start straining when the user accidentally leans or hits it. As for the materials, I'm pretty sure this was meant to be an all aluminum model.

Can I have a hint? Just uploaded my final version of it and I honestly can't be bothered to make another. Also, out of curiosity, does it fit within an 18cm cube? I had to redo mines because it didn't fit the guidelines.

I like your mounting idea, I might borrow things from that.

My idea is more like the desk mounted one.

My relies on a wall plate, with a long cylender sticking out that runs the length of the stand, inside the stand

Looks pretty good to me! However, you may want to add a bit at the bottom of the wall mounted plate so that the stand itself doesn't just slide down once weight is added to it, like little  90 degree bends to stop it. All in all, a well thought out design since it would be easy to put on with nothing in thew way, and perhaps we could also have a second version where you can use the same wall plate and add a new stand, or perhaps a stand that supports two sets of headphones at the same time on the same wall mount.

There'll be 4 countersunk screws holding the base plate into the wall. So in terms of support, it'll be more than adequate. As for a second design, I've already exhausted my brain capacity for the week. Keep in mind that the entire object has to fit in a 18cm cube, which mines barely fits in. Fitting 2 in that area will be really difficult.

I decided to get off my ass and finish the logo instead of leaving an imprinted hexagon. As for the LTT logo, it was a request in the official thread. This, version 2.1, as well as 1.5 (exact same but without logos for minimalists) will be my 2 final versions.
