700$ build

well you see your build is called a bottleneck because of the older architecture cpu which a person should never buy it also has a case that sucks because it has ok airflow, Flimsy design and almost no fans and a 970 that almost isn't worth buying since it is a low tier card since the g1 exists also the cpu I had was a step up since it ran faster and finally your gpu price doesn't exist anymore so suck on being wrong

You are full of shit.  :D

Oh yeh and also for only ten dollars more in rebates but still in his budget he can have an i5 he can overclock with a board he can overclock on with a balanced gpu a terrabyte of storage and still a good psu and a trusted case with the only upgrades needed being an ssd and a cheap cpu cooler

99% of games are better with a GTX 970 than a GTX 960... no matter the CPU.

What is your reasoning since 4gb is plenty for 1080p check out this video:

Also most games really like 4 fast cores and you can not deny my build is newer, faster and overall has more upgradability options since the mobo is z97 also if you are goin to say a 970 can play 1440p yes it can but does someone playing on a $700 pc have enough money for a high res monitor I don't think so

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

Seriously, you have been here a while now (on LTT).  Have you not learned that most games, especially single player, are GPU bound?  Your i5 4690K + GTX 960 build would lose quite generously to my i5 4440 + GTX 970 build in over 95% of games made in the past 2-3 years.

Do you need benchmarks?  The GTX 960 and GTX 970 are not even in the same league:

So I am not going to argue with you any more as you are not the person buying in this thread.  I will just summarize:

Your two $700 builds...

$748

Please don't attack a perfectly viable gaming rig (in this case mine).  There is nothing wrong with my build at this price range... and would provide a better gaming experience over your builds 99% of the time.

Focus on communicating with the buyer in these threads, not with starting a flame war about whose build is better... when the OP is not even responding in the thread.
