Why did you buy a QX6850? They are really expensive...

I bought 2 overclocking motherboards. The P5Q Turbo and the P5Q Deluxe (8+1 phase and 16+a phase respectively). I wasn't going to let them sit there without having a CPU designed for overclocking available to actually overclock (I've got a problem though where 2 cores are binned lower than the other 2, so they require more voltage for a stable OC)

Not unusual. Kentsfield is a pair of separate dual core Conroe dies on a single chip rather than a single die containing 4 cores.

I know, which is annoying. And interestingly enough, looking at the Arctic silver 5 application guide, the Xeon X5*** are put forward as having 2 separate die.

is it cl3 though? i just thought this was pretty cheap and this kit might be micon which should do well over 1100mhz cl5.

Its rated as CL4 at 800MHz, but just like every other stick of DDR2 I own they do CL4 at 667MHz, CL5 at 800MHz, CL8 at 1066MHz. Long story short I got ripped off every single time by the manufacturer.

Straight up-FSB above 400 are impossible on mine. And I'm treating it right with the best NB cooler I could find too.

well north bridge chips are a bit lit cpu's. some are better than others.

I know. At least I scored with the Deluxe though, managed to push 480 on the FSB the last time I used it  :D . (I did remove the shitty and dried Asus stock TIM on the NB and SB-#AC5FTW)
