Video games age ratings to high.

What do you guys think about the age ratings of games now a days are they to high or do you think that the age ratings should be lower.

I personally think that BF4 shouldn't be rated a 18 for the amount of gore in the games.

They are just a rating not a rule, no one really abides to them. 

Though I'm not endorsing kids to play all 18+ rated games out there, when a kid is allowed a game is up to the parents really.

So yeah I'm fine with the rating.

I don't believe in the whole video game make you violent thing. Played gta 5 for a year and if anything i have become less violent from my parents due to the fact i have somewhere to put my anger.

The rating is more of a reccomendation. It warns you and your parents if there is any content that they might find unsuitable for children.

I think they are perfectly fine the way they are. (They have been this way for years now with few to none problems at all)

As techswede said, the ratings are more of a recommendation for the parents. I see nothing wrong with them.

 

I wouldn't want a 10 year old playing GTA V though. It just doesn't seem appropriate to me given that there is so much mature content in the game.

there is that likly chance that your brain goes crazy and you adapt to thinking killing random civilians is ok, ending up to be in the news for killing innocent people

There's a lot more than that. Senseless murder, rebellious actions towards those in charge, domestic violence, torture, drug use, sexual themes.. Etc, the game is pretty bad.

OP: I don't think the ratings are wrong. I mean most games you can buy regardless of age. They're mainly there to let people know what to expect in the game and don't really stop people from buying them.

To be fair most kids have watched porn by the time they're even capable of understanding anything in GTA.

 

There's a lot more than that. Senseless murder, rebellious actions towards those in charge, domestic violence, torture, drug use, sexual themes.. Etc, the game is pretty bad.

But, the majority of those things things are optional.

I actually think that younger kids being able to play mature rated games with older adults is more destructive than playing the game itself. It's dangerous on both parties.
