Thoughts on Bernie Sanders?

so senator Sanders is running against Hilary for 2016, i recommend you guys do your own research and not ask me so you can formulate your own thoughts. i feel like we need someone like him to win, and not mainly because a lot of his ideas are wonderful (some are too unrealistic like free education, this country cant stand for the smallest amount of socialism). but i want to vote for him because hes not getting funding from any corporation. the largest donation he has gotten is 97k from a union in the aerospace industry. Hilary has gotten funding from all major money monitoring industries like banks and stock brokerages. but i feel that since a lot of us think he will be a good president that means he wont become president. the biggest gripe i have is that once we vote here, we still dont have a say because the electoral college runs the show. what are your thoughts? 

 

feel free to contradict one another statements and opinions in a respectable fashion since this is a topic on politics, i dont want it locked.

i changed it to the fact that we dont like even the smallest amount of socialism here, even if its good for you like a unified health system.

not many people outside of reddit and similar type of sites know about him.

blame the cold war era, its indoctrinated in the older peoples minds about how anything other than democracy and capitalism is a death sentence.

I'm a diehard socialist lover and come from a socialist country, I've gone through education free and had free healthcare always, our country has no sales tax and low income tax and is still in surplus because it taxes big companies and not the people of our country. Hong Kong's system is amazing and we're truly a "look at us and copy" example to the rest of the world.

there are different variations, like there are for democracy as well. people here just don't have the knowledge to realize that most European nations are socialists and they run just fine with their citizens being happy as all hell and a flourishing economy.

i do like Hong Kong, but not some of the policies of mainland china, and im afraid of how China will treat Hong Kong in the coming decades when the British doctrine is over (forgot what its called)

love how Bernie is adopting the same talking points as Lizzy Warren about breaking banks. breaking apart "too big to fail" should be something that would appeal to the ultra right Tea party.

 

whats an easier way to create real jobs than to break apart a banking monolith and populating the country with smaller subsidiaries.

The country is in some very serious debt and spending far more than we are bringing in. For this reason I am looking to candidates interested in cutting spending and balancing the budget while not creating a government that is intrusive on my life. Coming from a private sector background is a huge plus in my book. Bernie Sanders is none of that.

Being from Vermont myself I do have quite the love for Bernie. I'm super pumped to see that people are really starting to take notice of him and take him seriously. He so far seems like one of the few politicians out there who actually wants to get stuff done other than make a shit ton of money and fail on promises. Although there are downsides to everything, if he is elected as president I see taxes going up for all classes, not just the upper classes, but maybe it will be worth it?

I also see taxes go up. But if he decides to actually tax corporations and hold them accountable, it will hopefully not increase alot for the middle class.

Hillary announced a month ago and hasn't done a single interview since, a record of the longest a candidate has gone without one. Probably since she doesn't want any "Clinton Cash" questions. I don't see Bernie as being an electable type, but I'll admit I don't know much about his policies. The Dems need to find a new, fresh, energetic face. Hillary will come down soon from some scandal. You can only dodge so many bullets before your luck runs out.

But Bernie Sanders isn't a democrat, he is an independent that happens to be seeking the democratic ticket because they are closest to his views.
