Project Alternate 4K Build "COMPLETE"

Deblow

Awesome project!

Subbed

I was thinking for the audio rings would be cool to do the red CF as well!

Also had a thought (found this thread only today) on doing some of your compartments with magnetic pop latches from cabinets as they would give some lift to be able to open doors/lids. Is something I have done in a few projects.

Other than that looks totally amazing and may be something I end up doing to get my cockpit set up for driving/flight sims on a budget. Its either that or going the obutto route. There is just something to be said though about handcrafted furniture..

thanks mate,

Originally I was going to have the front sides open with the push button latches but after seeing the space I had IRL i changed my mind.

for the top side covers I might still use them, for now im just lifting by hand..

would have gone with motors on them but need to keep the costs down for now, its well over my estimated budget atm lol

Reworked the Sabertooth a bit more, decided after seeing it inside the desk that the silver

would look better black to match the other parts.

I left some brown bits but if there still seen when the components are added then I  will most

likely also paint them Red or black.

Did you use a small brush for the red paint?

Why do you have to make everything look so good? It makes me feel bad about how ugly my build will be in comparison to yours... Nah just kidding, I love this build. Keep up the good work.

UPDATE:

Almost done with the 3.5 HD racks, they will each hold 2 drives for now, but can be adjusted to fit 3 if needed.

Finally finished with the logos & MB, just need to install the Coolermaster logo around the center SSD compartment,

then that part of the build is completed & I can finish up the loop, add the GPU & small details.

  • 2 weeks later...
Been a bit busy with the family lately, but here's a quick update & should have more by the weekend :)

Completed the runner for the glass top/lift, had a couple of ideas for the lift but this was the best option for now,

cost & time wise.

made from -

A CM Storm Reaper mouse wheel, old shower attachment

& some spare Alphacool hardtube cut-offs.

coated the wheel with some rubber to help grip the glass without scratching hopefully.

reworked a couple of things as I was waiting for some items to arrive,

redone the cable a bit better & in a brighter red than the 1st attempt..

Wasn't happy with the 1st carbon ASUS logos so iv also redone them, done them the same as the Deblow logo,

used laser cut logos & cut the leather & wood backing to match & blend.
