Project CARS devs address AMD performance issues, AMD drivers to blame entirely, PhysX runs on CPU only, no GPU involvement whatsoever.

You monster !

A regular intake of carrots obviously makes you smarter and thus more fit to GPU/ games debates.

Everyone knows this!

The silliness in this thread is unbelievable.  A few AMD  fanboys with their knickers in a knot because they can't blame nvidia and won't let it die, they then get upset because they think they are being personally attacked.  If you feel personally attacked it's probably because you are too emotionally invested in the discussion.

The facts have been laid out,  the debate has been done to death, the conclusion has been drawn.  There is nothing left to do so any further debate is simply refusal to accept when you are wrong.

QuicK and DirtY. Read the CoC it's like a guide on how not to be moron.  Also I don't have an issue with the VS series.

Sometimes I miss contractions like n't on the end of words like wouldn't, couldn't and shouldn't.    Please don't be a dick,  make allowances when reading my posts.

for a person who claims that, you don't seem to have a single shred of knowledge about RM 650-750 series of PSU.

What's wrong with them? Yes, they are overpriced and only tier three. But still, power supplies having nothing to do with this discussion does it? No It Does Not!

If your PSU isnt *insert prefered brand* you are scum obviously !

You are sub human scum if your PSU inst *insert prefered brand*.

I thought this was common sense people come on.

not yours particularly, but national's in where he claims to be the expert in reading reviews from the internet. and has a RM 650-750 series....

people still don't get it. this is hilarious.

I don't know why there's an argument anyways. Our eyes can't see past 12 fps so I don't know what the issue is.

The 295x2 needs water to do what the Titan Z does on air. That is an engineering failure. Not everyone can use water cooling, especially in very small cases. For example, Linus could've put a Titan Z into their latest build just fine and gotten a lot of CUDA acceleration for CUDA accelerated applications like Premier Pro, without really needing to sacrifice anything else in that compact case.

Put a 295x2 into a case like that. You kinda can't...

except the titan z didn't do it on air really- the titans are down clocked on the titan z, and the only way to get the performance of two air cooled titan blacks is water cooling.  I consider that a failure more than the 295x2

Consider that AMD had the 7990 in mind when they made the 295x2. I think they made the right choice to go water for it, and I think it was a success.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

i know indie games that run better on both hardware and they are not "sponsored " and thye barely optimize their games because they don't have either than man power or the money to do so, it seems like a excuse to do a piss pure job on one side of your consumers, i want evidence : provide us emails back and forth and then i'll believe what you say, in this age you can say it was hacked and leaked by a anonymous person.

I don't know why there's an argument anyways. Our eyes can't see past 12 fps so I don't know what the issue is.

It stopped being an argument once the other side openly dismissed benchmarks and testing that showed that PhysX wasn't hampering anything and that if anything, it came down to driver optimizations that AMD just didn't have.

Not our problem that those people refuse to see the light.

How is the fact that he has a RM 650 relevant to the discussion.

I think it's generally a good thing for devs to work with gpu manufacturers, to ensure a good gaming experience for everyone, and good drivers of course.

But it can never be AMD's responsibility to program or optimize any devs game, ever. I't not like AMD cannot afford a few licenses, if that's it. What exactly did the devs expect?

This is an NVidia title through and through. Maybe the devs did not receive any monetary funds, but maybe they did receive a lot of NVidia hardware instead (like the titan z they demoed the game on), and lots of NVidia programmers, to write parts of their game engine. Maybe even proprietary tech from NVidia, that would never work properly on any AMD card.

We already know that all devs are prohibited from sharing any gameworks tech with the AMD driver team (or AMD in general), so there is no way for AMD to optimize drivers for the proprietary gameworks.

This is nothing but a hit piece against AMD. And @Victorious Secret, you really are riding the fanboy train. You're not even trying to be objective with statements like

This is yet another frightening example of the damage, a proprietary piece of middleware, like GameWorks, is splitting the market, causing vendor lockin, and ultimately, weakening proper competition. It reminds me of the horrible way Batman Origins ran, when the devs of that gamewokrs title refused to receive the help AMD offered them: http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/173511-nvidias-gameworks-program-usurps-power-from-developers-end-users-and-amd/2

This reeks of propaganda, nothing else.

Exactly, that is the problem with black boxed, proprietary middleware, like Gameworks. There is no legal way for AMD to optimize for such a title, meaning that people end up blaming the drivers. AMD drivers are perfectly good. They don't fry cards, like NVidia's have done in the past. They are better at multi monitor everything, but generally both vendors have pros and cons with each of their drivers.

There are many ways of paying a company, without exchanging a single cent. Like free hardware, free advertising/marketing, free technology, like proprietary gameworks effects, free programmers, given to program and optimize your game, etc. This is an NVidia sponsor title.

At first I was like well yeah if Nvidia offer help then yeah it's AMD's fault then I read your post. 10/10, some very good points.

Well said.

There's enough salt in this thread to replenish the Dead Sea. It's kinda amusing.

You make some good posts but a decent value of the time your posts hold little value and are somewhat condescending in nature; it seems like you only make those posts for some form of entertainment (?). I just thought you should know (I have seen a lot of your posts on the forums).

Except that most of the points he has raised have been shown to be moot or a none issue.  The game runs fine on AMD hardware so his claims regarding damage and the evils of proprietary middleware on top of the claims that AMD need to see the gameworks code is irrelevant.    AMD can and do fix their drivers to make these games run fine on their hardware.  It may not be the instant the game comes out, not even nvidia pull that off all the time.  But it does happen.   Also it is quite a large thread and we need a proper TL:DR for it.

For obvious reasons, I haven't read the whole thread. However, what I have read is enough for me to know that this thread is well overdue for being locked.

Attacking other members is never acceptable, so I have a feeling that some warning points are going to be handed out after this. I would tell you not to let it happen again, but I think I've given up hope at this point.
