So, why 3 monitors? Because what's more immersive than a surround display. Well onto the audio part of my build I opted for a sound card rather than a higher preforming graphics card that I just couldn't see myself buying because to increase the immersive feel you need good audio. No speakers? Yep! Why? Speakers are less immersive to me than a good set of headphones. Now onto cooling, a h110 should keep the CPU cool even with some high overclocks. Overall I would be proud to own this build and I would think I would feel more immersed using this than another build.

Welcome to the first build off! The rules and guidelines can be found here
This week's challenge is a PC dedicated to an immersive gaming experience. That means that good audio and picture quality are key, as well as smooth frame rates. Fan noise should not interfere with the gaming experience either. To top it off, you have a budget of $1,700.
This contest will run from Friday July 12th to Tuesday the 16th, with the 17th and 18th reserved for voting. Please submit your part lists before the 17th.
May the best builder win!

UPDATE: Congratulations to LonliestOfAll, the winner of the build-off! As of Friday morning (July 19th) his part list had the most votes. Thank you to everyone who participated!

EDIT: Make note that the memory, motherboard, mouse, and video card are all red and black themed giving a very nice color scheme. I would also like to point out that even though a $10 mouse and keyboard combo would be good, the topic said "for Immersive Gaming" so I took the time to add a gaming keyboard and mouse. Another key feature to consider is the 3D ready Full HD screen which again helps for immersion. If you don't like 3D then you can just enjoy a 120hz monitor. And as for the 4670k and 8gb RAM they are plenty for even the most intense games. PLUS YOU GET A FREAKING 780!

i9 25.6 GHz with NeuronThreading, 256gb 6000 MHz RAM, GTX 990 OC 3024MHz 12gb, Skeletal X99 motherboard, 1 Petabyte SSD, Fractal Design Humaniod R1 Case, Herbivore 10,000W PSU, Noctua NF16 LP Derma Cooler.

Probably the only Star Citizen player who is planning on a career in Journalism instead of piracy, mining, trading, exploration, military, station management, etc.

Generation 0: The first time you see this add 1 to the number and copy it into your sig. Consider it a social experiment.

I voted for LonliestofAll's build, but you were my second choice. I don't personally like surround setups much (but to be fair, I've never used in one in person). The only thing that stopped me from picking your build was the lack of a high-quality audio solution. A little less on the keyboard and a little more on the audio and I would definitely pick that.

Very nice white theme too but I didn't really like the triple 21.5" monitors. It's 23" minimal for me. The 7950 is also a bit weak for triple screen gaming and just gaming on one 21.5" is quite small.

Yeah I knew my 7950 was going to be weak for this, and I find 21.5" screens the best for size. Thank you for liking my build, also would like to point out I probably made at least 20 revisions on my build because of how good all of your builds were. Thanks again!

This is where voting becomes tough. If I were to actually build a rig for immersive gaming, I would choose parts close to yours. LonliestOfAll's rig (arguably) fits the topic better, putting aside personal feelings about surround monitors, etc. Because of this, I switched my vote to you, since I should vote for what I would actually use :)
