I suggest a high end green/shades of grey build for nVidia fanboy (that's why green) in future, with budget $3500, without monitor, keyboard and mouse, so a full computer for $4000. (not sure if posting in a right thread, excuse me if not)

This is the right place to put it :)

That sounds like a good idea, but I would include peripherals for two reasons. 1. It's a good opportunity to make a nice color scheme, and 2. $3,500 is a LOT of money, especially without peripherals. I'll trim down the budget, require peripherals, and add it to the list. Thanks for your suggestion!

I've added them. What kind of price point do you suggest for the server? I don't know what specs are considered "decent" to host a game server.

Doesn't really matter. It'd be okay as long as it's not too high so we can't go crazy. We'll figure a way around any budget.

Essentially, what's the ballpark though? Are we talking APUs and i3s? Or Xeons?

It's up to you. Game servers range from dual core amd cpus to dual xeons.

I suggest an HTPC that can do decent gaming at FullHD and is nice and small so that it can live under your TV.

You wouldn't know from the title, but the All in One box is what you suggested. I'm thinking of making it a more expensive system that serves many purposes (hence, AiO). It could act as an HTPC, Steambox, F@H rig, and NAS.

Sorry I didn't see your post for so long. I am considering making the contests every two weeks, which would help give everyone a looser schedule.

I prefer the weekly schedule. Even if I miss a contest there is always another to think about which makes it fun for me. Also when I don't particularly like a contest I only have to wait one week until a new one comes along.

i9 25.6 GHz with NeuronThreading, 256gb 6000 MHz RAM, GTX 990 OC 3024MHz 12gb, Skeletal X99 motherboard, 1 Petabyte SSD, Fractal Design Humaniod R1 Case, Herbivore 10,000W PSU, Noctua NF16 LP Derma Cooler.

Probably the only Star Citizen player who is planning on a career in Journalism instead of piracy, mining, trading, exploration, military, station management, etc.

Generation 0: The first time you see this add 1 to the number and copy it into your sig. Consider it a social experiment.
