Programming on a portrait monitor

Tasuma

I was curious if anyone here has/is doing this? If so why do you like it? If not why not? :)

I have and tbh I prefer having a square as possible monitor. as I code downside and laterally a lot (long strings and stuff)

I prefer it, but the vertical viewing angle on my TN monitor is so bad that both my eyes see slightly different colors sometimes, which seems to cause fatigue.

I do it at work. Middle monitor is just some random Dell 24" with 1920x1200 resolution. Works very well for me. Just watch out not to make your methods too long :D

In my opinion if you feel like you need a large vertical space to visualize your code then you are writing things that are way to long, thus probably violating a fair amount of principles/good practice concerns.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.
