Battlefield Heroes and Need for Speed World are both closing down

legodude

Thought I'd share this news about battlefield Heroes and Need for Speed world are both closing down.

Quite sad news really as I've played many hours on Heroes and I loved the game

Dear Heroes,

The war is over! You have fought long and hard but the time for peace awaits us. The Nationals and Royals have finally been able to put the past behind and call a truce. With peace comes an end to a great story, and thus it is with a heavy heart that we must inform you, that on Tuesday July 14th 2015 we will be closing Battlefield Heroes for good and stopping the service in its entirety.

This is not an easy choice, but we believe the time is right to retire this veteran game. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the years. It’s been a pleasure for us to have entertained you for this long, and we hope you had as much fun playing Battlefield Heroes as we had creating it.

Those of you who still have a balance of in-game currency are encouraged to spend it before the game is no longer available on Tuesday July 14th 2015. Additionally, from now until the closing date we will also be disabling the functionality to purchase Play4Free Funds, as well as the ability to register new accounts.

Thank you for playing Battlefield Heroes!

The Race is Coming to an end.
By: rhiordd | 04-15-2015
After five years on the race track, Need for Speed World is about to run its last lap. The free-to-play PC action racer will be permanently shutting down its servers on July 14th 2015. Purchases of SpeedBoosts will be disabled as of today.

When it launched 2010, Need for Speed World brought together best-in-class action racing with an unparalleled social experience on PC. However, five years on, we feel that the game no longer lives up to the high standard set by the Need for Speed franchise. The steady stream of live content kept our players engaged but unfortunately we were not able to keep pace with feature development. At this point, the major overhaul needed to bring the game up to speed is not viable for us, so after careful review we came to a decision to stop development and begin winding down support of Need for Speed World.

We’re still leaving Need for Speed World on for a couple more months. If you have a balance of in-game currency, we encourage you to spend it before July 14th. While you can spend the currency you already have, we are disabling the functionality to purchase SpeedBoost, as well as the ability to register new accounts, from now until the closing date.

It’s been a great ride. We would like to thank our community for a wonderful five years. We’re grateful for the time we spent together.

Well there goes the last sort-of decent f2p racing game... oh well :D

The only game left is drift city, and that's dying as well... With all the transfers the community is gone.

And it wasn't a big community in the first place.

So, heat online gone, this gone, drift city bleeding to death (also, it became really p2w, another reason why it's dying).

TM Nations is the only f2p racer i can think of, but that's going downhill too because there's nothing changing...

So, with this, it might be soon the racing MMO is going to be gone... (yes there is World of speed and auto club revolution, but i don't have much hope for them)

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Looks like battlefield hardline for pc will join this group sooner than later not by EA move but nobody playing it on PC, game is barely a month old and had 12k players maximum and now when gta 5 is out there is barely 7k and dropping. Glad I didn't buy it. Stats from www.bfhstats.com

It sucks when a game depends on a company server to be alive, players should be able to have their own servers and keep the game alive.

The stars died for you to be here today.
