In Europe we use periods like you use comma´s, at least when writing out numbers. Can make it very confusing when transferring from a European corporation to an American one, or discussing prices.

Speaking of punctuation, generally in english you use the ' symbol as the apostrophe instead of `.

Do not get me started on numbers and punctuation and stuff... I'm not so *centric as to think there's a right or wrong way, or to want to force my way on the rest of the world, but I do think we need to pick one and make it the global standard.  Not having that be universal is frankly insane.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Quick backstory, i'm getting an education in IT, in my class we have several people above the age of 25

So this woman in my class said that her son built a PC, she offered to help him build it but he refused saying that he "certainly did not need ANY help from his mom". First mistake he did was that he bought a motherboard with the wrong socket for the CPU he had bought.  After buying another motherboard with the right socket he decided he could not afford to spend any more money. The thing is, he had not bought a hard drive yet! So she gave him a hard drive from an old build. How many hours has it been running you ask? Oh, just a measly 34.000 hours xD

To be fair the kid is like 12, but i'm pretty sure he has learned to ask his mom for help from now on xD

Same. I knew difference CPUs had different sockets by the time I was 11 and I built my first PC on my 12th birthday. I did manage to mess up pretty bad (I've mentioned it before, forgot standoffs and killed GPU/wifi card, also would have been a lot worse without my semi-techie friend's help.) but I chose parts that were all compatible and was a decent deal. I've learned a ton more since then and have successfully helped my friend build a PC without issue (other than a bootloop but reseating ram fixed it). I still have a lot to learn, but I've gained a lot of technical knowledge in the last couple years.

Attached picture is my schools internet at 10:00pm on a friday. technically we have a full gb up/down in speed. but the servers at both schools and the finance office are likely doing there weekly backups to the town hall, as well as the update server pushing gp and windows updates to all the computers on the domain (roughly 600).

In other words, i once brought in my gaming pc, and it downloaded my entire steam library (150 games) overnight.
