RIVA is, GeForce 4 is early 2000's, and FX 5200 was around the time of Vista (03 or 04, it has drivers for Vista).

I still got a working FX5200 in my brother's Roblox gaming system. And it's around Windows XP. Or even 2000.

But the thing is, half of my rig was hand-me-downs so I only paid $702.92 for it.

Erm... This is what my rig will be valued at (USING MY PREFERRED MERCHANTS, THE XFX 7950 IS $200 OFF). I'll get the power supply later, but I have the OS and DVD drives covered. Sound card might be slightly less since it's just a SoundBlaster Z OEM.

It isn't. Nowadays a mere 660Ti can outperform a 590, not to mention 590 struggles to stay cool.

Last Friday one of my second cousins came to my house. He's 7 and can not for the love of god understand anything computer related. He loves subway surfers, and he got a Surface RT for Christmas, SS is available on WP8 but not on WRT, and despite every. single. time. I meet him I tell him that he can't have it on his tablet every. single. time. he asks me to install it.

I am pretty sure it is on the store of windows 8, maybe it is not compatible with rt though.

No. On the Windows store there is an app that links to an Android game emulator of sorts, but it only works on Windows 8/8.1 non RT.

LOL, you didn't even find one with a 660Ti.

I think you're thinking of the 580, which is in between the 660 and 660 Ti. The 590 is an SLI 580 pretty much so around twice as fast.

[snips]

Hmm... Kinda surprised as I usually see see benchmarks done with other cards even less powerful than 670 on exact same settings get better framerates in games than I tend to get. Probably I have some issues, like 590 running too hot (or not enough RAM).

At least it looks nice (not as nice as the 690).

It may look nice, but at least the Gigabyte's model of the 590 only has a single fan, and imagine just one fan cooling 2 hot fermi chips, even though they've been underclocked quite a bit by manufacturer(s). I might have to underclock even more by myself, if I could do that at all...

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Tried explaining to my mother that the reason why I can fit so much stuff on my 27" screen compared to her 27" screen was because mine was a higher resolution... not sure how well it went, but it was odd cuz usually she doesn't question anything since my Dad, my brother (writes code but doesn't know anything about hardware), and I are all techies.

Also it was funny the other day my bro (working IT at the school bcuz u know he writes code so he must know this stuff) came home from work absolutely thrilled to have just learned that RAM had clock speed. He has experienced 2 high-end PC builds in our home and still had no idea...
