Worst company for RMA

Recommended Posts

Cooler master got kinda kinky one time

Are you sure you were calling the right number...? O.o

RMA doesn't seem to have much of a point in the UK. Invariably there is one RMA address in Europe, and it's always outside the European Union for tax reasons, so that involves paying the cost of international shipping of the item ourselves, which often ends up being more than we'd just spend buying a replacement.

Dick smith in NZ.

They and a local laptop repair company don't know how to fix a melting GPU fan. They kept cleaning out the dust and returning my laptop instead of replacing it wtih a new one like their warranty stated.

Most of my stuff outlast the short warranty I get... And I've mostly only gotten good RMA experiences so far, quick and easy. (Well, that doesn't include the poor build quality of products... looking at your Corsair gaming headset hs1a.. rma'd them twice, got a new one both times in return and they both broke(no audio in left cup) in the same time frame (2 months))

My friend though, RMA'd his graphic card(7970) with Gigabyte... it took about 7 weeks total for him to receive his repaired card... 2 weeks until Gigabyte said they received the card(tracking said they had it for at least a week before that though), then it had the in repair status for another 2 weeks and finally in testing status for another 3~ weeks, was shipped back overnight to him.

Thankfully it was actually repaired and not just one of those "we pretended to repair it for all this time so here's your faulty card back" story that I've heard quite a few times here and there.

I consider this to be SLOW.

And? I'm never buying from them again. Still doesn't mean I want to go through the trouble of selling them

Komplett.no (norwegian tech shop)

They treat pc buyers and pcs that get RMA'd like gods, but they shit on you if you need to send a phone in for warranty stuff. I bougth a cat b15 smartphone (amazing ip64 rated phone) and komplett sent the phone back to me un-repaired, CAT on the other hand replaced my screen, rear cover AND battery for free (phone that returned had same serial number and imei number) (only the screen was broken when phone was sent in)

Gigabyte, had to RMA my R9 290, went something like this:

Gigabyte - "Please give us the details and we shall send you an RMA sticker."

Gigabyte - "Please contact your local store for RMA process"

Store - "Please contact Gigabyte for the RMA process"

Gigabyte - "Yes, we handle the RMA process"

Gigabyte - "Please contact your local store for your RMA process"

Gigabyte - "Sorry, we can no longer process your RMA"

So as you can see, it never got done, I ended up returning the card back to the store for a full refund, never again am I buying anything Gigabyte, that is the only company that I have ever had to deal with that kind of bullshit before.

ASUS has very very sloppy aftersales with regards to graphics cards. They basically don't honor warranty at all.

Warranty expired with the webshop, tried to get a factory warranty from ASUS and they made some bullshit story that the card was imported from Germany and therefor had no warranty.

Utter BS.

See I never have this problem because everything I buy I make sure that the company covers everything, or I get a warranty from Microcenter for like $20 because I always tend to break shit. For me warranty is more important than pricing.

You where in the return window period, that is why they told you to see your store. Your store didn't want to handle the exchange process.

The reason why Gigabyte told you to go in sore to have it replaced, is because you would have gotten a refurbished card. You just bought it, and it was faulty, why get a refurbished? You would pay refurbished the price of a new one.

No no, what happened at the time was they issued me an RMA, everything checked out, and I was suppose to receive my RMA code to give to the collection guy, but about 2-3 days later, they sent a new email telling me to take it back to where I bought it from to issue the RMA there, and then this just kept happening over and over again till I just got fed up with it. The funny thing is about a month after all of this, I get a random email from Gigabyte giving me an RMA code.

I would have to say Lenovo from what I have heard from the guys in my new work place. Apparently we have waited up to 6 months before the paper work was processed before they could send out a onsite tech.

FYI. I work in a High School and have been informed that I am not really allowed to do hardware repairs or basic hardware diagnostics  :(

ASUS. Horrible service, takes a month to process RMA, and you get someone else broken board, heavy dust and scratches included.

Blames me for the crap board received.

I've RMA'd a nexus 7 gen2 and they had a courier come to my door with the replacement and pickup of the old one within 2 days.

Can't say it was a painful process at all lol

OT: Dell. Return shipping 'pre-paid'? more like 'pre-used'. Had the parcel service refuse pickup because apparently the shipping info had already been redeemed or something like that. Told Dell, who said if i wanted it done i would have to pay due to me supposedly voiding the shipping information or something (which never happened).

No RMA's yet to go badly. I've only had failures within store return dates, and then long after the warranty went bad.

Other than that, did hundreds of Seagate and WD HDD RMAs, and as long as you sent proof of test failure, they would replace with zero questions asked. :)

I am about to do an advance rma on my K70 though, we shall see....

Sounds to me the same type of story of people buying a game or software and the product key is already activated. Someone made a keygen and are using these numbers. Probably this recently happened and Dell well as you are one of the few didn't got it. I would have ask for the manager, and simply say "Why would I send something to you guys that is not my system?", and they would most likely generate a new one.

I did ask for the manager only to be told "we dont have one" which is a total load of BS.

Thankfully we purchased the equipment through Intuit so I just told them and got them to sort it all out for me

Diamond , they refused 12 requests for my 290x , and now refuse to respond to my emails and calls. I gave up and repaired the card myself , some solder joints had broke so easy fix ) and wish I had bought another gigabyte card , always had good experiences with gigabyte

Ic Diamond?

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

That company is such in financial trouble. I believe it declared bankruptcy several times, or sure felt like so.

Since I was a kid, they existed. They used to make Nvidia graphics cards, then disappear, came back with 56k modems (when people were switching to broadband), then sound cards (when on board sound cards where common, even on low end boards. And their solution was using the same crap chip), I believe (all going by memory, sorry for the inaccuracies), then video capture cards, and now, AMD graphics cards, wireless extenders, USB docks, and 4K USB display adapter, 'cause sure why not. Looking at their site, they still sell their age old capture USB cards.
