Hard disk not detected in bios and cause machine_check_exception blue screen

I had just bought a new hard disk 1TB Seagate Barracuda 64MB, after i installed it into the computer, the bios doesn't detect the new hard disk and when the windows boot up from my ssd it cause machine_check_exception blue screen. is there any how it could be fix? or the hard disk is at fault and there is nothing i can do except returning it?

update: when i connect the hdd after the computer started it detected under USB

System Spec

Asus p8z77

i7 3770

ssd vertex 4 ocz

windows 8

the hard drive is SGATE/ST1000DM003
