About Me

I am fourteen and living in the east of England. I enjoy playing video games, programming and maths. I have been watching LTT for about a year now and this is my first build. I was previously running an M11xR1(possibly the crapest laptop in the world).

Short Review

The CPU is just a beast. I have not overclocked it yet but will soon but it still never reaches 100% usage.

The CPU cooler is also good for the money. It is not that aesthetically pleasing but the CPU only reached just over 520C degrees running Prime95 for an hour.

Not much to say about the motherboard because I have nothing to compare to.

The memory also looks good but I have been having issues where it only registers as 1300mHz on my BIOS but I know a fix.

The SSD is super speedy because I have always been used to a hard drvie.

The 7870 is just awesome no problems so far!

The case is also exactly what I wanted for the money. I was either going to get a 200r or a 300r but went for the 200r because I personally prefer the clean style to a militaristic one.

Power Supply is good!

Windows 8 is made amazing with Start8.

The whole thing is amazing. I can play GTA4 with many mods and ENB's way above 60 FPS and on my old laptop I struggled to get 20. I may spend some more time on cable management and buy some lights.

Pictures

Sorry for the poor picture quality will upload some better ones soon!

CPU is an AMD 6300? You better be overclocking that thing with that cooler :/

I will soon but I have never really overclocked my CPU before. Do you know any good tutorials that might help me?

nah, its been a long time since I have messed with AMD stuff.

It should be pretty straight forward, but since it is your first time I would suggest downloading the Asus AI Suite since you have an Asus motherboard. It will overclock for you at a completely safe level, and you can make a cpu fan profile.

Here is the direct download for Ai Suite II for your specific motherboard

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/AISuite_II_XPVistaWin7_8_M5A97-R2_VER20101.zip

If that link doesn't work for some reason just go through the support_download page here:

had a 6300 (have, but not using - switched to mitx and there's no mobos for AMD) at about 4.5 under a H60. I think I won the silicon lottery, just like I did on my GPU (1250 mhz 7870 gigabyte) excellent CPU.

Daily Driver:

Case: Red Prodigy CPU: i5 3570K @ 4.3 GHZ GPU: Powercolor PCS+ 290x @1100 mhz MOBO: Asus P8Z77-I CPU Cooler: NZXT x40 RAM: 8GB 2133mhz AMD Gamer series Storage: A 1TB WD Blue, a 500GB WD Blue, a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

The max temperature is 62c for the AMD chips. You may want to re-apply your thermal paste or invest in a better cooler before overclocking.

That case is really black...

Like it's a nice dark shade of black. Usually we just get a matte type of black, or plastic black. That looks like graphite black!

Great looking build mate!

What ? AMD chips can only reach 62ºC ? Never heard of that before.... why so low ?

They can exceed this but it's not really recommended by most. I'm not 100% sure it's 62c on the FX chips but i'm fairly certain.
