Razer Blade(2015) VS MacBook Pro w/Retina Display

Not a Black

Alright. I just cannot decide what to buy.

I'm talking about $2000 one for both of them.

1. I'm planning to play a little bit of game on laptop with my friends. i.e) Cs:Go, Leauge of Legend, Naval Action, War Thunder.

2. I have every single apple products i.e) iPod, iPad Air 2, iPhone 6, MacBook Pro 13inch <- worst laptopever, etc

3. Need a laptop that's easy to carry around.

4. Do make PPT, write essay, edit videos, look through pictures

5. Do care about sound quality : quality of onbord speaker and with a headphone (currently using Razer Kraken, Beats wireless earphone, beats wired earphone)

6. Yes, I like shiny bling bling things.

My only concern is......

Razer blade have 8gb ram

MacBook Pro have 16gb ram

Razer have 1080p

MacBook Pro have 1440p <- i think

Razer have Gtx 970m

MacBook Pro doesn't have one

Cares about sound quality.... owns beats and krakens, ....I give up

They are 2 very differnet laptops, the macbook will be better for work and productivity, the razer blade is 100x better for gaming

If you are only playing basic games and mostly working - get the macbook pro

If you are mostly gaming and need the performance - get the blade

I agree with this, these 2 have their own strength and weakness (also features).

i have the rMBP with the 750m,

battery life is ~7-8 hours

1880p screen

i dont recomend if for gaming but those games work fine on it

but it very quiet and light, there is no high pich  squeel from fan,

and OSX yosimite works great for interconnecting all your devices.

Blade you have windows

much better for gaming

these are my 2 cents.

i would get the MBP because its a great ecosystem if you have apple products already

Basically it's like ShadowCaptain states, if you do own gaming PC, there is, from my point of view, no reason to buy gaming laptop, that's why I've bought MBPr.

I would prefer Mac over PC in every aspect except for gaming.

yeah Macbooks are amazing, just not good gaming laptops - but for games like CS and LOL etc-  then its fine :)

but the blade is definitely for a more hardcore gamer

The biggest question is: do you want to use OS X or Windows?

OS X -> Macbook Pro

Win -> Razer Blade

MacBook Pro for sure. The new one is just amazing, and the games you listed are not demanding at all. Also, the Retina display is stunning. iDevices will be a bitch with Windows, also.

Gaming = Razer

Everything else = MacBook

Since the MacBook is a better overall laptop for OS X, Windows and Linux. Just my thoughts from personal use.

A few members here have already recommended the rMBP for a good reason.

You know why the Macbook is white and the Blade is black?

The blade got too much tan.

Get it? Min-Liang Tan? Anyone?

Anyway, just to add to the conversation. I would personally go for the MBP. It scores well on all points except gaming. Wait till you get home to your desktop if you want to play CS. MBP probably takes League Ok.

MBP has excellent speakers, great keyboard and IMO best clickpad.

Ram does probably not matter unless you're gaming with 100 tabs open in the background, like I do.

Screen quality is decent on both, considering they are only laptops.

No problem installing Windows (or any other OS) on a Macbook, but there have been rumors I think that Apple is gonna stop supporting that??

Downside is of course tough 3D gaming, and I would rather go for something with 1080p due to compatibility and not having to deal with scaling on videos etc.

something

I twitched reading "sound quality" and "Beats" in the same sentence.

I twitched typing the above sentence. Yuck.

I think you need to get that checked sir
