Titan Black The Pockit Rockit.

ALXAndy

MAINWIP_zpsvorbbx4b.jpg

So I decided to use my new Titan Black for a whole new rig.

If you remember the DFI rig you'll remember I bought a Pentium Anniversary, board and ram with cooler. Sadly DFI died out because I just couldn't get my head around the 250D. I hate it.

So, I introduce the Pocket Rocket.

Case, which I'm ordering on Friday.

It's not new. It's about 8 months old and I paid £390 delivered for it with over two years remaining on the warranty. So basically if it dies I will end up with a TX any way.

Only there's the thing. Since Nvidia have disabled double precision a Titan X would actually be worse.

The case is a Cooltek UMX1 plus. Note, the plus model is the one with the back plate fitting the UMX1 regular can not hold a GPU.

They're German.

Shaqo - sounds good to me :D

I used to work with some guys that made craming high end parts in low in cases a huge artform,

i'm talking 3way SLI with a 6 core intel inside once of those shitty 10$ cases.

this is different, but i still thing interesting part/case combinations are cool.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Mainly for gaming but I do a lot of vector art for work and it uses DP. So it's nice to have it and let's face it, a Titan Black is more than enough for any game at 1080p..

Geekazoid - Cooltek UMX1 plus. Don't forget the plus or you won't be fitting a GPU. They're German.

A Titan Black is overkill for 1080p lol. a 780/970 would be more than enough

It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature!

True but the Titan will last far longer due to having double the amount of vram. It's not grunt that worries me with games.

That case reminds me of the power Mac g5

@ALXAndy that is super sexy but does the case have a window?

No dude. I'm going to mod the side panel with that Mayhem grill which will be painted black. No windows though.
