well, for me it means that i consider myself female to the extent that i identify more strongly with "female" than "male" as they are socially constructed from my Western American cultural viewpoint but that it does not always cause me dysphoria and i do not feel totally female either. from the french "demi" meaning half. the male version is demiguy.

in the sense that some labels mean some things to some people and other labels mean other things to other people, yes. however i find that someone can be said to be "acting male" or "acting female" quite strange as it is.
