No, run an older AMD, such as an Athlon XP. Intel had speedstep on the P4, AMD didn't, and you could literally make your AMD catch fire.

I’m not sure, but I know this one got as hot as the fucking sun (probably a bit hotter actually) just booting Windows.

I have several PGA478 socket P4s (including one in a laptop) and they do not auto-downclock themselves from the base clock speed. SpeedStep didn't exist on the Intel desktop platform until they switched to LGA sockets.

Agreed. My P4s don't throttle at all no matter how hot they get. The "upgraded" 775 variants don't either as they are just 2 P4s on the same pcb but different socket. Yeah they get hot though  My "dual core" variant can easily be at 80c under no load....

There are single-core P4s on the LGA775 socket too.

Media, the class I thought I was doing extemely bad in. We did a practice exam, which I expected I'd do poorly in, so I didn't revise. For this exam, I got 60%, and IMO, that was a fairly bad score. But what suprised me the most was, the class average was somewhere between 30% and 40%.

 

I now think my media class is full of drop kicks, the test wasn't even that hard.
