Yes in the aftermarket cooler its put on perfectly  smooth, leaving no room for airbubles, when you manual spread it, itll be good and all but not as good as just putting a pea size on the middle and then letting the pressure of the mounting system do the rest, my haswell at 4.2ghz idles at 28C in a 26C room ambient temp ( with a corsair H80)

Air bubbles ? thermal paste melts on the cpu heat spreader, again  I refer to this guy

Yes it melts but the the air that was trapped still doesnt have somewhere to go. Honestly i doubt it makes a big difference but the pea method just seems most logical. Pressure distributes the thermal paste evenly, whereas doing it manually, it wont be

that's how he does it, cpu heat spreader  is just metal. 

mind you I used an sd card.

but whatever, theo your cpu is better cooled because your using a liquid cooler, I'm using a hyper 212 evo,  and keep in mind that there are ambient temperature differences,

if you use don't use a high viscosity TIM (something like artic silver) spreading it out before you apply your heatsink isn't needed.  what's best?  I've heard people having identical results switching between methods.  plus some heatsinks come with slightly bowed surfaces.  dot to me just seems easier and faster.  if your TIM is that important to you go for phase change and liquid metal TIMs

All that money spent that will become useless here in about 3 years.

how would it be useless, it still has 6gb of vram, so its already well over 4k ready, not to mention it has the gpu horsepower to drive 4k

Depends on what you mean by "drive". It sure won't be 60FPS on many recent AAA titles.

wat was that stuff he put on the RAM chips, what were those metal clippings and did he put a custom cooling thing on each gpu?

Not a huge fan. I'd rather have SingularityComputers build a system than have that, if I couldn't do it myself.

 

In what world do you get waterblocks like that?

his spreading has awful. I could see the air bubbles. he shoudlnt have spread at all.

I actually like the looks lol. Even though I am a looks guy if I had such a powerful PC i wouldnt care one bit about how it looks when I have all that performance
