Something you should add is an explanation on how to post pictures because it took me quite some time to figure out how to do that.

Just found this. Very nice post Minibois!

Thanks for the compliment!

It's very much a work in progress still, I'm still not fully content with it.

wat

A lot of the stuff featured in this 'Guide' are shown in the FAQ, CoC and the other "read before posting" stickies.

Hasn't stopped people from not reading those and doing whatever

How to upgrade my member status like bronze contributor?

You get that by supporting LinusTechTips directly, by contributing 5 dollars per month.

Silver is 10 dollars, Gold is 25 dollars per month.

Don't be a jerk covers 95 percent of this.

Maybe, but you also have forum specific stuff, such as follow your topic and include your full system specs when asking for help.

Thanks for posting this!

Real helpful to newbies such as myself.

No problem, you're welcome :)

Yep, that's the other 5 % ...hehe. I just meant don't be a jerk and you've got most of the rules down already, not that the thread is dumb :)

I think if it gets pinned down by a mod, this thread should become official

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

I have a suggestion:

Respect the mods' decisions. If they delete a thread because of something, don't create a thread complaining why they deleted it. It's just not ok.

this is probably the only place i'll hang out anymore: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/274320-the-long-awaited-car-thread/

Great to see a guide that's friendly and not too in-depth, still covering everything. Nice job.

Thanks :)

I tried my best to indeed cover everything I felt was nescecary to know, while not being overly long. That's why I put everything in spoilers too, so you can quickly see what is relevant/interesting to you.

Added to the post.

You see this stuff way too often.
