Why can't we ever have a giveaway for existing forum members

ohh yeah never thought about it. if someone wins linus' pc i hope they dont do something stupid like break it or sell it that is technically a museum piece for the technology world  

On the give away thread someone posted that linus should not give away his pc as the case was one of the first things his wife gave him. When I read it it had over 400 likes. I think most of the forum wants linus to keep his pc

It's the case that was given to him as a gift. Cases really don't get outdated, especially considering all the work he out into it.

 

Yeah, that's true. I think I'd let him keep the case and take the rest if I won ^^ I do have a spare anyway.

Relax, we're not even a quarter of the way to 100000 posts ^^ I doubt it will go over 50k in the 40ish hours that remain.

I think that's pretty unfair. I joined the forum as soon as it was available to the public but was under 50 posts for probably a year since I mainly only read things. I only worked to get to 500 posts last year so it wouldn't say 'junior member' under my name.

i've been a lurker for some time now, watched a lot of youtube vids and only recently started thinking about saving money for a personal build. Was thinking of joining anyway and the contest just put me "over the edge" sort of speak off course. But i understand your point of view completely!
