GeForce Titan X owners club *update*

The Titan X has made its way to the market. nVidia's latest highend GPU equipped with a fully enabled GM200 chip, based on nVidia's Maxwell architecture.

It features 3072 Cuda Cores and monstrous 12GB GDDR5 VRAM. In raw rendering performance this means 50% more Cuda than the fully enabled GM204 chip has on the GTX980. This is the first card that is able to bring 4K as enjoyable exoerience to the table. With more than one card 4K becomes a desired resolution. The Titan X is made for 4K.

The exact specifications can be found here:

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-titan-x/specifications

As of right now pretty much all hardware sites and YouTubers released their thoughts and benchmark results for this GPU. If I do not post every single one of their reviews keep in mind, they were all pretty close.

AnandTech:

Of course all the YouTubers did their due diligence as well with the Titan X.

After all those articles and videos I think it is time to present the proud owners of this GPU here at LTT:

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          MegaDave91

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          Osiris Fox

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          Shottie

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          techenthused73

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          sam75

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          HatallaS

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X          Kanuck

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X 2way SLI          Mindtrick

nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X 2way SLI          Najuno

If you have bought a Titan X let me know and I will add your name if you wish. Please submit either a picture or benchmark.

But after all said and done here are my personal FireStrike Benchmark scores of the day I got the cards. I will shortly add more benchmarks with updated scores since my cards run now fully custom watercooled with EKWB fullcover blocks.

Benchmark: Fire Strike

CPU: i7 5960X

GPU: nVidia Titan X 2way SLI
GPU Core: 1232MHz
GPU Memory: 2013MHz

Benchmark: Fire Strike Extreme

GPU: nVidia Titan X 2way SLI
GPU Core: 1232MHz

Benchmark: Fire Strike ULTRA

GPU: nVidia Titan X 2way SLI
GPU Core: 1232MHz
GPU Memory: 2013MHz

Score: 8876
3DMark Link: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/6302122?

PCPartPicker Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nLtgHx *

These scores are all with the cards run linked. No fine tuning no dialing in, just sliders raised and benchmarked. Like written before the driver needs definitely fine tuning from nVidia and the GPU suffers from the reference cooler IMHO. But reference cooler was never the goal for me here.

Further can I say I understand now why nVidia did not put that backplate of the GTX980 on that card. Due to the enormous 601mm² chip this whole PCB gets warm, and in SLI config hot. Vlad will have a hard time with 4 cards on air to hold the boosts stable.

In conclusion I can say the nVidia GeForce GTX Titan X is indeed the first real 4K capable card ever as single card and is more than impressive. But the price and the lack of aftermarket cooling designs from the board partners make this GPU a bit of a Diva. With a custom water cooling you will be able to make use of GM200´s potential. And speaking of a Diva so is the Intel i7 5960X, Intel asks for an immense premium here as well. Do you need all that? My answer to everybody here is clear: If you are an enthusiast, a highend benchmarker and a person that plays and enjoys it all in 4K, then YES this is the way to go! You ask me about 1080p? Get your hands off hardware like this, and get something of the consumer side, that´s better for your wallet and keeps your mind sane ;).

* The GPUs are from nVidia direct, but that wasn´t an option in PC-Partpicker and the whole system (GPUs not yet) runs with a 1080mm Monsterradiator with a flow optimized high performance custom watercooling.

You do not favor synthetic benchmarks, but want more of real world 4K results? Okay here we go:

Finally, if you have the card already and want to buy fullcover waterblocks, because you want to beef this card even more? There you can get parts for it.

http://www.performance-pcs.com/ If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM I'm am working 10+ with watercooling.

If you want to squeeze more out of the GPU and see what it can do in OCing, here's what you need to tweak and benchmark:

https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner or http://www.evga.com/precision/ Tweak the card(s)

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/ Get info about your card(s)

http://www.futuremark.com/benchmarks/3dmark/all  Do your benchmark with 3D Mark

https://unigine.com/products/valley/download/ Do your benchmark with Unigine Valley

https://unigine.com/products/heaven/download/ Do your benchmark with Unigine Heaven 4.0

For all of you that want more than just what the stock BIOS can offer you, you need to flash your BIOS (at your own risk, I will not be responsible if anyone bricks a 1000USD card).

That's why I am not posting any links to the programs or modded BIOS. If you are interested shoot me a PM.

And for all people that don't want to believe it, I can OC both cards boost stable to 1500MHz with my custom loop and after 60 minutes of Unigine Valley I have 34 degrees Celsius on both cards. This is almost a 50% OC and therefore the GM200 share the same brutal OCing potential like the GM204 on the GTX970 and GTX980 has.

I'm going to wait for Nvidia's next series before changing. It's tempting to go for the Titan X, but my Titan Blacks are still going strong.

I really wish there was some resale value in my 290x, i'd hop on the upgrade train right now...I'd get a titan X if the lightning were able to sell for anything close to it's original 800 dollar MSRP...

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Well without the card live for direct testing that not too optimal.

I will create some mod BIOS if people need for air, water and beyond ;).

Since it's a wait just ordered off of NCIX-Canada since like No US store seems to have it OTHER than direct from Nvidia.

Amazon DOES NOT have the Titan X even listed, even did the old fashioned way and tried to call the order in.
