Hey everyone,

I am new to building a PC and I ran into a problem.  My case has a standard set of two USB 3.0 Ports on the front that connect to the motherboard.  I recently bought an internal card reader that also had a USB 3.0 port.  Since my motherboard only has one USB 3.0 connector, I am stuck with an extra 20-pin cable not connected to anything inside the case and two nonfunctional USB 3.0 ports.

Here is my question:  I have been looking around at some PCI and PCI Express expansion cards with extra USB 3.0 ports and another internal 20-pin connector.  Is that connector on those cards supposed to be for connecting more ports, or is it for connecting to the motherboard?  I would assume it would be for more ports, but I recently bought a Bluetooth card that plugged into my USB 2.0 connectors on my motherboard as well, so I just wanted to confirm before I went ahead and bought anything.

Also, any recommendations on any brands that I should get, or does it not matter?

Thanks

I also don't have any more USB 2.0 connectors available.
