I know that feeling all to well.  Thankfully I am done.

 

I'm a Cisco networking student, and I'm quickly losing my drive in the subject. My teacher assigns far too much homework (all assignments in the chapter, then an additional 5-10 assignments. 2 Chapters/week on average), and he speaks of always using real-world equipment without having any real-world experience himself. He has Cisco certifications out the ass, but no real experience with the technology. Everything he knows is in a closed lab environment with little to no actual issues. Things work as theoretically intended, and there are no real problems like you would have in a real network. I don't like that, I want my college instructor at my hands-on college to have real-world experience in the topic. I WILL be switching to Microsoft Server Administration after I get my Associates and my CCNA next quarter. I'm not happy about it, because I am passionate about Cisco, but I can't continue learning from someone without the knowledge I need.

Well looking at ziftr.com it shows that you can buy computer components on the site and they're actually pretty cheap. My guess is that Ziftr will want to (obviously) make it to where you can buy things on the site using ziftrcoin. The whole point of me mining is just so I can find a way to fund getting new tech to play around with, so this would be pretty neat once they implement it.

Looks like the wallet does NOT need to be opened. According to the https://zrc.maxminers.net dashboard, the coin was still automagically transferring once it hit the threshold I set.

Yeah, that seems to be a common occurrence. I have an offer from my home town to pay for the rest of my degree (2+ years for the Bachelors), plus the certification tests. They are also offering to hold a $25/hr starting position for when I finish my degree. They are also offering me $5000 dispersed evenly each month across the remainder of time I'm in school to help pay some bills if I accept. I'm just trying to decide if it is worth all the mental and physical stress to accept the amazing deal, or if I want to do something that is taught by people with the real-world experience. Major mental debate for me, I really want to take the offer, but at the same time, I don't want to be miserable at school. Luckily, I have until August to make my decision, but again. Stress and success, or less stress and happiness..

I just did some math to see if I'm making any profit.

 

In my area the price is 0.11$/kwh. My amd CPU has a TDP of ~100w when overclocked, so it uses ~2400wh/day = 2.4kwh/day => 2.4 x 0.11$/day = 0.26$/day.

For now I seem to make ~3 zfc/day. At the moment 1 zfc = 0.00042200 btc; 1 btc = 274$ => 1 zfc = 0.115$. So I am making ~0.34$/day (this does not involve any cryptsy fees).

 

Power cost: 0.260$/day

Earnings:     0.345$/day

Total profit:  0.085$/day

 

I know that this is quite a pathetic profit :lol: but I am expecting ziftrcoin prices to go up to at least 0.2-0.3$(I honestly don't believe it can get to 1$ and stay stable) and also when GPU mining will be introduced my 270x should be much better than my athlon 760k, with just double the electricity use, as amd cards seem to have a good reputation as miners, compared to nvidia cards or CPUs.

I'm excited to see how well my outdated 6950 fares! Lol. And I agree, it doesn't look like it will get to $1 and stay steady. But look at BitCoin, they had a really rocky start too!

/3 Fans tied to my CPU load,...were getting loud cos I set them to go fast (1400rpm of 2000rpm fans) when past 61*c, took a little speed off the top, from all of them and raised the target temp to 75*c., CPU still only gets to 66*c from the 61-62*c.

Pretty much whisper quiet now at full load except one fan still going 1300rpm on the bottom of the case, I just didn't take it down enough..

 

Happy with results though.

It isn't set up yet but Ziftr has ZiftrPay like PayPal with Ziftcoins they also have a wallet and they are getting merchants like ebay or amazon to sell things. If you buy stuff directly on the Ziftcoin website from merchants then you have a guarantee $1 value per coin. Otherwise don't convert or spend them anywhere else.

I'm sure you will be getting that $1 per coin floor "guarantee" real soon, always assume what the dev says is pure bullshit, nothing ever goes like they plan. I have no idea whatsoever why Barnacules picked this shitcoin to promote.
