Hey important note for all of ya who want to limit the CPU usage of the miner! 

minerd -a ziftr -o http://zrc.maxminers.net:3331 -u Username.Worker -p password -t 8

see the -t 8 at the end? the -t stands for Thread which in my case i've limited to 8. If you have a 4 core and 8 thread CPU just type in 4 and it will only use 50% ^^

 

I hope i could help the people who haven't found out a way to do this ^^

Oh, cool! Thanks for sharing, I was wondering how to limit it to not use 100% when trying to do background tasks.

Thanks for all the info guys, managed to get the pool miner running last night at no crashes at 100%. For some reason the wallet miner was causing me to bluesreen, but heat did not seem to be the issue, seems to max at 69c on my i7 3820 cooled by older corsair h100. 

Doing good so far, finally getting some coin!

my miner is saying 430kh/s but the site is saying 300?

I've noticed that when I only have the pool and the wallet open, I get a much higher hash than I had with 3 tabs in FireFox open, as reported by the MaxMiners dashboard. I'm monitoring on my Surface Pro 3 right now, and I'm getting from 450-650KH/s, double my max and min from monitoring on my desktop.

Based on the amount of verification they are asking for, I'm thinking they are fairly secure. I like more verification. I also have a very secure password and two-factor authentication enabled so you have to have my phone or a damn lucky guess to log in after figuring out my complex password.

Do you think the value will go up when GPU mining starts and it becomes more popular? Because right now they are worth $0.10-$0.13

Do you think the value will go up when GPU mining starts and it becomes more popular? Because right now they are worth $0.10-$0.13

 

From what I've seen, the coin rates act like the stock exchange. Now, remember, I'm just as new as most people here, I just seem to be the first person (and sometimes the only one) to reply!

 

I think once people stop selling as soon as they get a coin, the price will even out.

 

Personally, I'm holding on to every coin until I can exchange to a more stable currency, or until ZRC is worth a fair amount per coin.

Not sure, but I'll test that now. I keep it open just so I can see as my coin gets transferred to the wallet from MaxMiner automagically.

 

I'll run it for about an hour without the wallet open then let you know!

In my opinion, this is one of the things that makes ZiftrCoin more appealing than most cryptocurrency. So hold on to those coins for a while. There's no telling who is using the ZiftrPay system from our perspective. You'd have to be in at the company to know that. I imagine they're trying to get some tech sites though. Their whole mining base is the group that would buy PC hardware, so it only makes sense that they'd try to get some sites like Newegg and NCIX on board.

Lol, that would be amazing. My main goal out of this is to help me save up for various projects. I have tons of ideas in mind, and I'm planning on getting started on my first Case Mod. I also plan on building a computer for my girlfriend by July, and purchasing myself a laptop to use as a mobile offloading machine for my GoPro Hero 3 Silver. More 2 cents from me:

 

As hopeful as I am with this coin (for the reasons mentioned earlier), I cannot help but feel pessimistic as every other altcoin I've mined (with the exception of Dogecoin and Litecoin) has turned out to be nearly worthless as their values have crashed. I don't want to be too depressing, but I do want to stress that these coins are VOLATILE and no matter how well-intentioned, often turn out to just be fads.

 

However, as pointed out here, the $1 minimum looks promising. Either way, hold on to them.

Yes, but you opened my eyes to an amazing opportunity. I've been ranting and raving about Ziftr to some friends of mine since I started mining, so I hope I don't over hype. But the hype is strong here, I'm pumped. First time I've felt this energized and enthusiastic about something since I met my girlfriend.

However, Ziftr is slightly different, in my opinion. The $1 minimum is what I'm most excited about. It should help stabilize the pricing at least somewhat. Most other altcoins didn't get much in the way of mainstream appeal. BitCoin did, so the pricing exploded, but BitCoin was complicated and expensive to mine, so then the mainstream dropped it. Pricing plummeted almost instantly after. ZiftrCoin seems to be trying to be much easier, which will hopefully draw the masses a little bit more, and hopefully in a moderation, since BitCoin was just like every other viral thing on the internet. Happens, people know about it, it becomes popular, the news covers it, super popular, then it's finished in the spotlight forever.

Well, it's good that my goal was met. I was just posting to try to get people as excited as I am about this coin. Best way to get people excited for it seems to be to share the goals that Ziftr has for their coin.
