Seems like I'm posting a lot.. So sorry if I am.

 

How does one go about exporting their mined coins from ZiftrCoin Wallet, and how does one see what they have mined using a pool (specifically the MaxMiners pool?

EDIT: It looks like I figured out how to export from the ZiftrCoion Wallet to Cryptsy. It just took about 10-20 minutes to post. All is good on that front, now to deal with exporting MaxMiners..

EDIT: It looks like I figured out how to export from the ZiftrCoion Wallet to Cryptsy. It just took about 10-20 minutes to post. All is good on that front, now to deal with exporting MaxMiners..

When logged in to Cryptsy, go to the "Balances" page at the top row of the web page.

 

Scroll down to "ZiftrCoin" near the bottom of the page

 

Click on "ZiftrCoin"

 

Select "Deposit / Autosell ZRC"

 

Click the green "Generate New Deposit Address" (I'll recommend doing this every time you deposit for enhanced security - no proof on that though)

 

Click the "Send" tab in ZiftrCoin Wallet application

 

Copy and Paste the Deposit Address from Cryptsy into the "Pay To:" line

 

Optionally label the payment method (I labeled mine as "Cryptsy")

 

Select the amount to transfer

Click the "Send" button at the bottom of the page

 

Done! Like I said, it took a couple of minutes for the coins to transfer, but they DID show up for me after a little bit of waiting (I sort of got worried that I did it wrong and lost the coins, but I didn't).

One ZiftrCoin is currently worth $0.20 per coin. Since you get 3.8xxx (I don't remember the exact amount) per block successfully mined, you are getting close to $0.76 per block mined at the time of this writing. But of course, remember that cryptocurrency value fluctuates like the stock market. When I started mining a few days ago, 1 ZRC was $0.45, just over double the price now.

1. There are a few detailed in this thread, I've used MaxMiners pool (this one is stated earlier in the thread). Usually though, I mine solo for no reason other than I'm doing things on my computer that are more important than mining. When I go to bed tonight, expect me to be in that pool.

Yeah when I started mining, each ZRC was worth 75 cents USD. Given that you get almost 4 ZRC per block mined, I thought I was raking in about $3 USD per block. It's fallen waaaaaaay down in value since then, but not enough to where it would be pointless to mine. That's why I would recommend prospective miners spend some time on cryptsy every time before mining to try and get an idea of what their coins will be worth and to evaluate and see if the money they're spending on power consumption is worth the amount they're making. 

For me, the answer was no until I saw that pools are starting to form. I was tired of seeing my computer run all day at 90 Celsius and not see a single coin for my trouble. Now that there are pools going to where I could earn at least SOMETHING for the work I put in, I may get back into it.

My computer runs 24/7 anyways, so I figured "Why not?" I rarely use more than 50% of my CPU, so again, I said "Why not?" When mining, I've never gone above 60*C, but I keep my system as cool as possible, idling to 30% at whatever the room temp is (because I recently learned that the second law of thermodynamics prevents the computer from being cooler than room temp by simply air or water cooling). At night, the window gets open (and it's currently about 28*F in Michigan), and the door gets closed. I commonly wake up to a 40*F room, helping me achieve those cool temps. I'll be dreading the summer........

 

However, I'm in the same boat. I've mined for a total of close to 24 hours now, and only gotten one block mined successfully, but again with the "Why not?" My computer doesn't get turned off anyways.

so for pool mining, I just run the .bat miner, and any blocks found will automatically be processed by the pool and distributed equally, correct?

IIRC, you are awarded based on your contribution. If you are the top contributor, you get more. If you contribute the least, you get the least coin.

Compared to my experiences with other coins, this isn't that bad at all, even though it's only a few cents. Assuming each coin stays around $0.20 USD and I continue at this rate, I'd get about $3.60 of total profit after just 24 hours (thanks to college paying for the electricity).  B)

I am mining in a basement in Wisconsin which helps temps alot, when running stock cooler overclocked. I think the value will go up when GPU mining starts.

Indeed. I'm hoping to take advantage of some of that with CudaMiner for my GTX 660Ti. Wish I had a Radeon for this, but I certainly like having a GTX for 3D rendering better.

I'll have to put my 650Ti and Radeon HD 6950 to the test. Not an even benchmark by any means, but I'm sure some math can simulate an equal bench. That, or I scale a card down to the speeds of the slower.
