I have used one from Linksys and one from Belkin with various clients. They are "ok" at best - you need to place them about halfway through the original coverage area and then they boost a bit better. They have worked, but client find they drop signal on occasion. One option I like to use when possible is powerline. Works much better when I have used it...

when I only had wireless accessible for my desktop, I bought another router that was dd-wrt capable and set it up as an extension.

it gave me both ethernet in my room and a wifi boost.

Will work for electronic components and parts
