Overclocking

Hello

I am looking to overclock my A8 700 with a locked multiplier however I have been unsuccessful up to this point. The CPU has a locked Bus Speed.

Here is the CPU-Z specification:

I understand that in order to overclock I also need to adjust a RAM setting or something like that? Voltage?

Here is the first RAM stick specification (2nd is the same):

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm a complete noob at overclocking but need to get all the performance I can in order to use all my 760's potential.

Not with AMD, Intel cpus read XMP and that increases the bus speed sometimes.

Plus, how is your bus speed locked?

It will not let me change it in the BIOS. Am I correct in thinking that the Bus Speed is the multiplier?

No, bus speed and multiplier is different.

Bus speed is the base speed that everything runs on. Multiplier is the number that your bus speed is multiplied just to set the cpu frequency

Oh so, 100 x 3.8 = 3.8Ghz.

That makes sense, thanks.

Still stumped as to how I can overclock!

To overclock your CPU, you do not need to overclock the RAM at the same time. That just gives you more performance benefits. If both the multiplier and the bus speed are the locked, the CPU cannot be overclocked. So if what you said is true, than you can't overclock that CPU.
