What's the best WIRED non USB headset?

Of course in order to use your sound card you need a wired headset that has 3.5mm jacks. But what is the best gaming/7.1 one out there to use your sound card to it's full potential?

Most still use USB as well as the 3.5mm jacks

It seems impossible until it's done.

Don't buy a 7.1 headset. you have 2 ears, not 7

 

the Hyperx Cloud 2 is a great value headset, but I'd probably go with some Sennheiser 558's and a modmic.

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

If you dont mind using a desktop mic or a clip-on mic or a modmic than I recommend a pair of headphone from Beyerdynamic (my preferred brand cause of comfort and sound signature), Sennheiser (hd 598 can be had for under $150 right now), AKG Acoustics, and Audio-Technica. Theres more brands out there so you can search them out if youre interested.

PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3
