I am new to PC building and would appreciate second opinions on this build list:

I have an Asus PB278Q and an LG UF7600.

I plan to use the Asus on my desk via DP and the LG via HDMI.

4. Peripherals
I use Logitech keyboards and mice. I am set at the moment.

5. Why are you upgrading?
My computer's getting old. It is an Asus CG5275 A003 with a GTX 750 that I added.

 

I want to build a PC. I want that experience and I need a PC that has some power. I like the "Sleeper" look in general. I think that I have picked powerful parts that add up to a nice combo that should last 5+ Years.I am a bit anxious about the CPU cooler from online reports of giant heavy coolers damaging boards and CPU's. I do not think I want water cooling either. I love to consume and create media and I also play games. I like playing games in a window @1920X1080 and still see my alerts and multitask during loading/waiting.

I am moving to a ASUS ROG RAMPAGE V EXTREME and to at least one Nvidia GTX 1080. Main use is Gaming and GoPro HD video editing.

Monitors are an ASUS PG348G (3440 x 1400) and an ASUS ProArt 27" (2560 x 1440) Budget not unlimited, but is very generous. Once more funds are available (after the Christmas rush), I will be picking up another GTX 1080 for dual SLI. I will be reutilizing my Corsair AX1200 PSU, Samsung 950 M.2 SSD, Cooler Master COSMOS II and 2TB WD Black.

 

I have settled on Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 32GB DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit but and not hard over on the decision, Corsair has served me well for many years and is on the 'Qualified' memory list for the Rampage V

 

The primary question I have is: Intel 6800 or 6850? 28 lanes vs 40 lanes. I want to be able to take full advantage of dual SLI and the full bandwidth of my M.2 drive. If the extra $300 USD (or so) for the 6850 will make a difference I will head that way, but don't want to invest if it won't.

I want to move to a microATX case so 1.My current motherboard wouldn't fit in the case 2.My parents have slowly been becoming outdated so Its as good as a time as ever

Guys, im having some problems with my pc, my config is a gtx 970, a core i5 4590, 8gb of ram, a 1tb hd and a h97 motherboard, but when i play games at high settings i get about 20 fps and on games like minecraft i keep getting gliches and i downloaded the latest drivers already. I really need help with this problem because i dont understand much about computers.

Most probably your hard drive. Depending on the world Minecraft can and will get expensive on disk IO. The easiest way to test this is by making a new world, if the FPS go up there you have it. I do assume that is playing on singleplayer, since if it is multiplayer it would not make sense with that config (CPU similar to mine 4690k vs 4590 while you having way better GPU).

Right now, im gaming on PS4, and ive wanted to get a gaming PC for a while. A few years back, i got a laptop, but its pretty much dead. I was looking to get one around christmas time this year from my parents, but i dunno what is good/bad (im 16 btw). Pretty much a noob when it comes to PC. Offhand, i have 219 bucks, but ill probably get more by christmas. Im going to be playing games like Overwatch and Team Fortress 2.

Why - I have twin 8 year olds and the old dual core celeron Asus ultrabooks I got them 3 years ago are just not able to keep up with what they want to play.  And since I need to build 2, I really don't want to spend a ton.  Just torn on going with this cpu or spend double + for a core i5.  will the amd give them a good experience.   Since I have MS action pack I don't need windows license.

AMD FM2+ is a dead-end platform. If you really want an AMD build, wait for Zen AM4.

My GPU died so need an upgrade, mind suggesting me some hardware?

Pc is used for gaming (old, to a bit less old games). Can't even think about newer titles. Afterall its 7 year old pc, and it was and lower middle class back then.

Since I have been out of the components market for quite some time I could really use some suggestions. My goal is to upgrade over my R7 260 X, but only so long as the rest of my build doesn't bottleneck the new gpu.

I realise new GPUs are probbably out of the question but please suggest few older ones that fit the role so I can find used ones on my version of craigslist (Im from Croatia btw).

I need a stable PC that can hold it's pants while dealing with heavy loading in a DAW without lagging and/or outputting audio spikes( all audio will be outputted through a high end USB Audio Interface ).

PSU - Seasonic M12II 620 watts will do. The money you save can be re-allocated to other components.

 

RAM - Make it 8GBx2. In case you need more RAM in the future, add another set of 8GBx2 for a total of 32GB.

 

GPU - Get the 8GB variant of Radeon RX 480

 

Monitor - Why not consider the LG 34UC97 which was reviewed by Linus ?

1- my budget is around 1300usd equivalent in USD. (I'm going to buy in Georgia - the country - so bc of taxes it will be around x1.3 more in real.)

2- This build is for casual gaming at 1080p / 60fps

3- My case - psu choises are limited to Zalman, Thermaltake, Deepcool and coolermaster. (mostly thermaltake) because of the country.

4- I may switch to i3 6100 if you guys confirm that it won't effect my type of gaming. 

5- No OC 

6- Going to buy a desktop pc after 5years of laptop usage. My latest laptop was Asus N550jk. This is important if switching to i3 is suggested since i don't want to miss i7 after buying i3 cpu.

 

I'm open to all kind of suggestions.

Hey everyone,

 

I'm currently in the process of planning a build for a friend of mine. This rig will be primarily used for digital painting, animation, and video editing. The budget for the build is around 3000 US dollars but that price is certainly flexible especially when it comes to getting better performance. I can figure out all the peripherals later and the OS is going to be windows running on a separate SSD. I am wondering really where to begin with a rig such a this. I've built my own gaming rig and a small server before but never a media editing machine such as this. What hardware should I be focusing on? Is water cooling necessary or would regular air cooling work just fine? 

 

I'm open to all kinds of suggestions and assistance with this one.
