Show off your Keycaps

Weirdybeardyman

This topic is a thread for people to show off their cool Keycaps, covet them and discuss various Keycap related things.

I am currently designing a retro ZX Spectrum style 105 Keycap set for a Cherry G80 MX Blue Keyboard through WASD

I definitely like the Individual graphics on the keys, I think they add a nice touch, but I don't want too go too far. I contemplated having the WASD keys be Mountain dew, Doritos, Snipars face and then the Illuminati traingle to top it off but I though that would just be going too far, look ridiculous and ruin the keyboard.

Here are mine, some Ducky Laser Etched PBT caps and some Double-shot ABS ones. The pics look a bit more yellow than irl but that's uni halls lighting for you.

Nice those keycaps look awesome, especially the Navy keys and the White keys are really subtle.

I Merged the Apple Retro Logo and the Linux Tux together and I think this logo would look awesome on my windows key or the escape;

At the risk of sounding boring, I like the look of the 4th one down best, nice and clean looking

I really like that one too, I am torn between a retro look with bright colours or a clean retro look, but i might go for colour in the end becuase if im gonna spend that much money on a set of keycaps I think I would be able to justify it if they were flamboyant. It would be like getting the most colour for my money :]

What layout is your keyboard currently?

Just playing about with lighting a bit, thought I might post the best results here.

The colours of the caps match up to the colour of the switches (apart from browns which are second in from the left on the top row, and Greys which are in the top right)

What layout is your keyboard currently?

the problem is just odd keycap sizes that were used on the deck 82/tg3 keyboards so like i have a number 1 key that is 1x1.5, a 1x1 tab key, 1.25 caps lock,1.75 left shift, 1x1.25 right shift, 1x1.5 backspace, 1x1.75 enter bottom row other then the space bar is all 1x1. So basically the only way to get caps that fit this is by piecing together a set of dsa blank key caps because otherwise i will never find keys in the correct sizes for the rows they need to go into

You can get WASD to print you custom individual keys, but it can be a little pricey unfortunately.

ya i can get the right size keys but not for the correct rows so the profile would be off one them that is why i would need to use dsa profile caps, which they do not have, since dsa are all shaped the same so the row would not make a difference
