Battlefield 4 Alpha GPU and CPU Benchmarks!

http://www.bf4blog.com/battlefield-4-alpha-gpu-and-cpu-benchmarks/

Remember the game is still in alpha so there probably is several factor bringing down performance such as debug codes being ran or just pure unoptimization. However this is the best we can get for some idea of how well so far battlefield 4 is being ran.

Looks like 2GB of VRAM is a must for 1080p. CPU's don't seem like an issue for last 3 gens of intel and this gen of AMD. BUT MAN OH MAN they need to fix this for modern GPU's.

not even those who play the alpha which is gonna finish a day or 2

Hope they make it more optimized, I do not want to upgrade soon with my recent 7970.

It's pretty much the same engine as frostbite 2 was so I think that it just runs poorly. There will be optimization but seeing these benchmarks makes me feel like they have a lot of work to do. Having two 780's in SLi running at 74 FPS means you have a poorly optimized game. Even Metro 2033 would run higher than that.

I hope those results didnt show overclocked graphics cards because then its a under 30 fps for me. Nearly forgot i3 your fired. Considering the 2120 is the most sold i3 from sandy they should have benched that instead of the 2100.

Something is wrong, ASUS Ares 2 can't be under the 690. It should be way higher.

I don't think it's real. Ares 2 is 100000000% faster than the 690. Imposible im pretty sure that those are fake.and 770 beats HD7970 Ge?? naahh somethings wrong there

Obvious fanboy is obvious.

Maybe the game just prefers Nvidia.

Take these results with a massive bag of salt, remember the BETA Crysis 3 benchmarks ? they were completely different from the final game build on both CPU & GPU performance.

Generally speaking performance optimization & polish takes place during the beta phase, where no new features are being implemented into the game (post-alpha).

And it is obvious that no AMD CPU optimizations have been made yet, this is what an AMD CPU optimized chart looks like (Crysis 3)

Very high core utilization.
crysis3%20amd.jpg

No hyper-threading support.
crysis3%20intel.jpg

So clearly the AMD/Frostbite CPU & GPU optimization process that EA & AMD have announced is still in effect & hasn't been implemented into the alpha yet.
So expect the final build of the game to have significantly different performance results.

I would presume that the current benchmark results are based on the same optimizations made with BF3 & just carried over without any of the BF4-specific optimizations added in yet.

Lol, please if you dont know what your talking about dont open your mouth like a 10 year old. i NEVER had an AMD card and it's true that the Ares 2 is faster than the 690... i own a 780 and had a 280 and 590.

Does no one realize that it's ALPHA

Optimization always sucks in alpha. I wouldn't be worried.
