Gigabyte GPU driver problems? What? Gigabyte doesn't make any GPU drivers.

| GPU: GT 650M | CPU: i5-3210M | Excuse my language, sometimes I can be pretty vulgar.

Whatthehellidonteven...

Your friend obviously doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, like Xelithium said above, Gigabyte doesn't make GPU drivers. What gigabyte does do for the GPUs it makes custom PCB's (those are GPU boards, the chips are the same), and custom coolers.

Now regarding the coolers, I've had 2 Gigabyte cards, and on both the coolers were less than ok, on an old 4850 the reference cooler started to melt and deform on some parts over voltage control modules, and on a 6850 one of the fans stopped working.

So as far as my experience goes, Gigabyte makes bad video cards, altough I might be a rare case, and I've only owned 2 of Gigabyte's GPUs.

Intel 4770k@4.6GHz, ASUS ROG Maximus VI Hero, Kingston HyperX Beast 2x8GB 2400MHz CL11, Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming, Kingston HyperX 3k 240GB - RAID0 (2x120Gb), 2xWD 1TB (Blue and Green), Corsair H100i, Corsair AX860, CoolerMaster HAF X, ASUS STRIX Tactic pro, Logitech G400S, HyperX Cloud II, Logitech X530, Acer Predator X34.

-It isn't, it's cheaper, and brings better price/performance ratio though (you get more bang for your buck).

'Is Gigabyte a bad manufacturer'

No, not at all, they've had some things die but then again so has every manufacturer, if I'm not mistaken I think MSI has a fractionally higher failure rate (still low though) compared to Gigabyte though I could be wrong, I'm sure I was reading it somewhere.

On the drivers they are from NVIDIA though you can download them from the different graphics card manufacturers.

So gigabyte makes bad video cards-.- well someone say they make good and some say they make bad video cards. What shoud i believe?

I guess I approached your problem form a wrong angle, to simplify:

-I've had bad experiences with Gigabyte's GPU

-That doesn't mean they're a bad manufacrurer, not at all, especially when it comes to motherboards

-Would I recommend a Gigabyte product to a friend in a dillemma? -Yes I would, and did on multiple occasions, none complained.

They do make custom PCB's, so yes, they make the chips too. But not all of them, just the custom ones. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

:EDIT: I didn't read your post thouroghly and I apologise, Gigabyte DOES NOT make the chips. To make things worse, I've said the same thing a few posts above O_o
