G-Sync/FreeSync & Why I'm Not Buying Either

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the exact attitude that allows companies to get away with this bullshit.

How am I blind? I've owned enough AMD cards to never wanna go back. If there's some insane AMD card I can easily sell the G-Sync monitor and go with Freesync.

Adaptive sync does the same as gsync and costs less, AND is licence and royalty free, so anyone can support it. I see precisely ZERO reason why supporting this would be anything short of Utopian standards.

The standards that you seem to want, but thats not good enough for you too... almost like you need the attention.

 

Oh and you refuse TO GET IT THROUGH YOUR SKULL that some of us are 100% done with ever enjoying games with tearing and stutter again. So, if there is a monitor with gsync that isnt there with freesync, or someone doesnt want to abandon his/her SLI setup... we WILL BUY gsync too.

That is my logic in this situation and it doesn't apply to any other situation.

 

Besides, at 144Hz, screen tearing with v-sync off is nearly undetectable on either of my current monitors and I have no discernible input lag. Even with a variable refresh rate monitor, you will have input lag once you reach the maximum refresh rate of the monitor.

 

Neither of these technologies solve input lag and that's a fact and arguably more important than screen tearing.

Seems you care incredibly too much about what others do with their money. GPU upgrades are usually every couple of years and so are monitors. I still fail to see your point and it's still a stupid argument. G-Sync is there so you don't have to upgrade your GPU every time it starts getting weaker because you don't need to maintain 60 FPS constantly. If anything it's saving people money but you seem to think there's some evil plot to lock people down and force them to buy only Nvidia or AMD cards.
