@Ravendarat It is a fun case to build in, I have even updated it a bit to make one of the tubing runs ever so slightly straighter.

@xreaperx22 The case is actually really nice to build in.  It has plenty of space obviously, but there are a couple of quirks.  One is that the front of the case is really lacking in airflow unless you come up with a way of opening up the glass panels by spacing them away from the case like I have done or perhaps adding in some small fans along the bottom of the case where the filters are to draw in more cool air just for the components on the Motherboard, the fan on the center console as I call it does very little for airflow.

The other quirk is that the area for the PSU when you use thick radiators is more complicated to build in, especially if you want to add in drain ports and the like.

All that said i love the case and would buy it again in a heart beat.

cool i was worried a little about airflow in the front, ill be using gigabytes z390 aorus extreme waterforce that has a full motherboard block on it but i still need a little airflow for the m.2 drives i believe, and i plan on using EK's coolstream XE 480's which are 60mm thick hope its not too tight back there.

@xreaperx22 I have one of those back there and it gets pretty tight with the PSU.   The waterforce Xtreme was a little too much for me so I went with the non-waterforce version in my build.  I will highlight that the cable cut outs are a little off from where they need to be.  It’s not unworkable but they just aren’t in the exact right spot for both cables and tubes.

Crowding up the back of my case is also the two Corsair Commander Pros and 19 of the 23 fans in the system.  The push pull setup I have is not necessary at all but I did it anyway.

Yes!!! It is possible OC’d to 5.0 gHz at 1.35volts, all you need is a correct (modified) BIOS, a programmer and a piece of aluminium foil

here is a link

some people run 9900k on the same board

The build log is in the signature

Compared to everyone else here my build is actually modest and doesn't use unicorn shart RGB and ridiculously overpriced EK stuff.

Xeon E5 1650 v2 4.4Ghz 1.35v

SLI GTX 1070 (SLI isn't dead, read below)

48GB Kingston HyperX Fury LPDDR3 1866MHz CL11 (1.35v)

2x Crucial BX300 in RAID0 (OS)

ASUS P9X79 Deluxe

Seagate Barracuda 4TB x2 (All non-OS data like games and programs)

EVGA NEX 750 G1 Fully Modular Power Supply

Reflashed Gigabyte AORUS SLI HB Bridge (works with EVGA compatible programs now)

Creative Soundblaster X-Fi (onboard audio doesn't work)

2x 240mm radiators, 500L/H pump, 8x Apevia 1350RPM fans, some cheap Amazon waterblock from China, custom mixed fluid (it's safe, don't criticize me)

Cougar MX-330G

Keyboard is Corsair Strafe Cherry MX Blue

Mouse is Cougar 700M

CPU temps are 32c idle and 65c load after 24h Prime95

Average bench matches OC'd 8600K, top bench matches stock i7 8700

Yes I'm aware of the CPU bottleneck, I'll be going X299 someday

Edit: Yes I'm aware the bottom 1070 looks like it's starved for air. it isn't. Max temps while playing GPU-bound games is 72c. Perfectly normal for an air cooled 1070.

No, SLI is not dead, 83% of games support SLI with positive scaling. Don't ask me for proof, just go on YouTube and look up SLI benchmarks.

@EKJake Hey! Sorry I didn't see this until now. But I have an Instagram dedicated to this pc it's @fliptechtv . Feel free to check it out. Thanks for the compliments on the build! I worked hard on it as it is no easy task to build in a case that small.

This is the 3rd iteration of my first ever waterloop, went whole hog with CPU and GPU in a Mini ITX case. Nearly had a similar setup shoehorned into a Hadron Air, but I ruined the case doing one final trim and gave up. So here we are.

Main parts:

  • Fractal Nano S
  • ASRock Fatal1ty Z370
  • i7-8700k (delidded)
  • GTX-1080ti
  • 32GB Kingston HyperX
  • Samsung 960 M.2, Sandisk Ultra II 960GB, some random 5000rpm 500GB Toshiba drive I had lying around
  • Corsair RM-650x
  • Cheap Cablemod set, they don't hold shape very well, hence the GPU wires looking kinda crap.

And the all important watercooling bits:

  • Optimus V1 waterblock
  • EKWB GPU block/backplate
  • Protium D5 top, EK pump and mount
  • HWL Nemesis GTS rads (240/120)
  • Noctua NF-A12
  • SavantPCs 240mm acrylic reservoir
  • A bunch of EK/Bitspower fittings
  • Random magnetic Arr Gee Bee strips, I think SilverStone?

hQGqEUi.thumb.jpg.7e5df166bbfa33c36913acf0b724ab48.jpg

(Yes, I know the window needs cleaned and reservoir refilled, I'm getting to it)

I'm pretty sure my purpose in life is to serve as a warning for others.

Mine is finally starting to shape up but I had to slap on my air cooler for now as I await the rest of my parts to come in from China. Also I mocked up using my x470 gaming 7 wifi and my 2700x but since the rest of my parts are still a month out I may wait and switch to a X570 board and new Ryzen chip before this is all said and done. And no the light on top isn’t part of the build, just needed to light up my work space

The "W"-machine (W as in whatever)

Hm, the case is a decade-old Cooler Master HAF 932 which I had just sitting around and with too much time on my hands I decided to give it a revamp. The loop is my very first custom build water loop. So far it's running stable afaics with following temps:

CPU: 35 idle, 36-41 under average load, 46-48 under stress testing

GPU: 35 idle, 44 after 30 mins of Heaven running, of which 1 benchmark on high quality and 1 on ultra high quality

Water temps: idle: 26.6 with room temp of 24 and 31.3 after said 30 mins of Heaven benchmark testing

RAM - haven't checked yet, but I assume they're ok

Loop: RAM-CPU-GPU

Rads: 1x120 and 1x360 (all that case allows for) both XSPC ultra thin white TX120 and TX360

Pump: EK-XTOP Revo D5 pwm

CPU block: EK monoblock MSI X470 pro Carbon

Piping: petg (2nd choice, but since it's my first and acrylic is not the easiest girlfriend, I decided on petg for now)

Reservoir: home made, app. 1.8 liters capacity

Fittings: Barrow, about 3 dozen of them if not more

System specs:

MoBo: MSI X470 Gaming pro Carbon (used for over a decade Gigabyte, but switched to MSI last year - would never ever buy an Asus)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X @ 4.15 gHz (last time I bought an Intel was in 1998 - would never buy an Intel again - let's say I don't like monopolists)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8) @3000 mHz

GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Seahawk EK X 8GB (not overclocked yet)

Storage: 3 nvme's (Samsung, Patriot and WD 205 GB, 480 GB and 512 GB); 2 SSD's (OCZ and HyperX both 250 GB); 2 HD's (Toshiba and Seagate Barracuda @ 3TB and @ 2TB);

SoundCard (yes - I have one; onboard audio is just not good enough for me) : Sound BlasterX AE-5

PSU: Corsair RM 850i

Propellors: 4 ThermalTake Riing + 120, 1 Cooler Master 230 mm (from the original case) and 1 aerocool 200 mm blue propellor, of which I removed the led).

Also, I have customized cables, but you won't see them as it's paneled off - don't like too much visible cables in the case, hence I made the panels around the MoBo. Sarcastically enough, the only main cable you see is the one of the GPU power, which I forgot to order in that configuration - ordering it next week and will replace it with the light blue version once in.

Color scheme is Wriyon-blue (a hint lighter than baby blue: https://www.color-hex.com/color/bee1ff )/White with some accents of very dark Green, sky blue and electric blue. The leds are in the same RGB scheme as the Wriyon blue, they seem white, but there's a hint of blue in there. Hope you like it.

Made the front io panel myself - will do that again, but all the buttons, the usb3 plugs, the audio jacks the water temp reader and the general temps screen I built in myself.

NB: Wriyon is a little local project that I have running here to help stir the love for reading and writing in school kids. It may not be as flashy and super duper as the other builds, but I made it all by hand without any tools except a drill, a heat gun and a sanding machine (heck, I don't even have a shed or workbench) and I am proud of it :)

These are terrible pics.  I didn't realize the camera on my phone was so bad.  But I am proud of this regardless so I wanted to share it.  I particularly like using the tubes on the right as a design/decorative element.  I wanted to keep everything very minimal so I packed all the cooling gear in the space behind those tubes.  The "room" as I call it was already there as part of the case.  I used some 6mm plexi to make the walls solid for the pass throughs.  It was no easy task getting all of that in an approximately 4.5" x 6" space.  it took me 3 tries to get something I was happy with. I look forward to your feedback. Specs:

CPU:  Ryzen 7 1700x oc to 4.1

MOBO:  Asus Crosshair VI WiFi

RAM:  Corsair Vengeance 16g DDR4 3000

GPU:  EVGA 950 SSC

Case:  Jonsbo C4

Water Block:  EKWB Supremacy

Fittings:  EKWB

Tubing:  EKWB (hand-done satin, black fluid made with food dye in distilled water)

Rad:  EKWB Coolstream SE 120

Pump/Res:  Enermax Neochanger

PSU:  EVGA 650 BQ

SSD:  Toshiba 840 EVO 128G

HD:  Toshiba 500G

I'm not a gamer, this is my workstation.  So although I would love to have a 1080ti or a 1070ti, I couldn't justify spending the money.  A custom loop was also unnecessary.....but very necessary, if you catch my drift.  Being a designer, aesthetics are everything lol.  That being the case you would think I would at least paint that angle aluminum I used to mount the rad (and a better solution as well lol)...but  most of the time nobody is gonna see it so f*** it.  I think that's about it.  Oh, ignore that rat's nest.  Proper cable management was done after the pics.  Thanks for taking a look.

My first water cooled build, any advice for next one?

Different CPU block and I would do some 90 degree bends instead of that long diangonal tube.  Also, I would trim up or redo the vertical one coming/going to the res, it's at an angle.

I present to you: The Hyperloop! It sounds cool and futuristic, screams power and innovation, but in reality it's just a big money burnig party.

The first part is more like a build log, the second part is just a lot of sexy shots of my machine.

PC:

  • MSI X99A SLI Plus
  • Intel Core i7 6850K at 4.3GHz
  • Inno3D GTX 1080Ti X2 at 2100MHz Core/5400MHz Memory
  • Kingston HyperX Fury 32GB quad-channel at 2666MHz
  • Samsung 970Evo 250GB
  • 2x Kingston A400 120GB
  • Crucial MX300 525GB
  • 4x Seagate Ironwolf 2TB in RAID 5
  • Seasonic M12II Evo 850W with DIY cables made with MDPC-X sleeving and an EKWB Vardar fan for quieter operation
  • Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic Black

Cooling:

  • Aqua Computer Aquaero 5LT
  • EKWB EK-Supremacy Evo X99 Nickel-Plexi
  • EKWB EK-FC GeForce GTX FE Nickel-Plexi
  • 2x Phobya G-Changer V2 360mm
  • XSPC Slim G2 360mm
  • Alpahcool DDC310
  • Alphacool Eisbecher 150
  • Corsair ML120
  • EKWB EK-HDC 16mm Nickel Fittings
  • Alphacool Eisrohr 16/13mm Acrylic Tubing
  • Mayhems X1 Oil Black Coolant

I initially built this PC in mid 2017, cooled with an EKWB Fluid Gaming Loop with a 360mm and a 240mm radiator. But with my 1080TI overclocked to the powerlimit and 6850K pushed to 4.4GHz @ 1.45V and a system powerdraw of 500W, it was quickly overwhelmed and ran uncomfortably loud and hot. When the pump top started to leak because I screwed a fitting in to hard and caused a crack (Whoever invented the GPU backplate is my hero), I decided that I wanted to go for a copper loop with way too many radiators for the maximum overkill-factor.

Aftermath of the leak, viewer discretion is advised:

This was shortly after the O11 Dynamic was released. I really liked the looks of the case, the two chamber design and the radiator capacity. So I put my aircoolers back on, fired up Fusion360, modelled the case based of pictures and measurements taken off my display with a ruler, downloaded a whole bunch of PC component models from grabCAD and started planning my loop. Because I didn't have a collection of fittings to tinker around and only wanted to order exactly what I needed, I had to get my dimensions right and actually managed to get everything close enough to actually fit.

Renders:

Renders were also useful for trying different coolant colors.

1829647941_O11v15sj.png.a49c0e95c926617196c1c84e6171efe4.png

I built the loop exactly like I planned, using the black coolant as seen in one of the renders.

Pics of the first loop:

Spoiler

Leak test using an aqua computer Dr. Drop. Really useful tool for leaktesting because you just pressurize the loop to 0.5bar, wait for an hour or two, and if the pressure stayed the same, you're good to go.

This is how I got away with not having a drain port. Because my radiators have four ports, I can turn my pc on its back, unscrew one of the plugs in the lower radiator and attach a fitting with a piece of tubing. Then I just have to loosen a plug in the upper radiator, stick the end of the tube in a bottle and slowly tip the the case back on its feet. Works like a charm!

1995876_o11(3).jpg.58c4cb3a51f7766de1a3e090b7bbcb58.jpg

1052615012_o11(2).thumb.jpg.52f57e576db85672d77dc97e19106ae0.jpg

But there was one thing that didn't quite fit. I couldn't model the exact position and dimensions of the fan mounting holes on the side where I wanted to mount the pump-res-combo. The mounting holes were interfering with the pump top, resulting in a slightly crooked mount because I had to jam it in there. Fast forward 6 months, and I notice 5mm air in the top of the reservoir tube and some coolant on the pump top. Fortunately it was only leaking at something like a drop every few hours, so most of the coolant dried up before it could drip anywhere and there was no hardware below the pump. Turned out my reservoir tube was stressed too much and developed a lot of small cracks and a larger one whre the stress was the highest.

Spoiler

Oh-oh...

1499958053_o11(4).thumb.jpg.f56a33cb37bee8026c683cc9b558b848.jpg

So, back to the drawing board. I had to find a better way to mount the reservoir. I made a testfit with some fans on the inside and a slim aluminum radiator on the outside, and it was close to perfect, I could almost make it fit without any new fittings and I just needed a 8mm M-F extension as well as a new 90° rotary and two hardline fittings for a third radiator. At first I planned the connections to the side radiator with nothing but fittings, but that would have required like 80€ worth of fittings. Instead I just used the fittings I mentioned and some of my tubing I still had around.

Doing some testfitting:

In case you're wondering about the weird wireing and the switch going into the pump: I wanted to reduce my pump speed while retaining the RPM feedback for alarms in the aquaero, so I couldn't do a 7V mod by connecting the pump between the 12V and the 5V rail, because the RPM signal is referenced to ground. I used a 5Ohm power resistor attached to a metal strip with some thermal paste to dissipate its heat, the switch is used to choose between 12V and ~8V. Now I run it directly from one of the aquaeros fan headers.

I then decided to delay my plans for a FreeNAS or unRAID server and tried to cram my four 3.5" HDDs in the O-11s back. Fully kitted out, it can fit three 3.5" drives, two in cages and one mounted to a cable-hiding-plate. I placed my new radiator on the inside of the case, put the fans on the outside and left the lower fan out to make space for a fourth HDD, placeed in some packing foam to dampen vibrations.

In order to fit the HDD cages, I had to move my PSU from the top mounting slot to the lower one, which required new cables. A few days and a MDPC-X shipment later I rebuilt my cables from the ground up with a white-grey (XXX White, Titanium Grey and Shade-19) color scheme instead of the Carbon-BTI I had before. I also used this opportunity to rectify a mistake I made when I built my cables for the first time. Then I used solid core 15AWG wire, which turned out way to stiff for proper cable management and went with regular stranded wires.

Cable-Stuff:

Spoiler

So stiff you could beat somebody up with it.

Nice and soft, making cable management sooo much easier.

1077734767_o11(5).thumb.jpg.47b00dad2cc03b25bbd00aefcc90acb9.jpg

While I already had my PC disassembled, I also put in some LED strips and also modded the terminal cover of the GPU waterblock to stick some LEDs in there too.

A few dissasembled and completed shots:

As for my future plans for this system: I'm again thinking about building a NAS and putting my HDDs in there. Depending on X570 motherboard pricing, I might switch over to AMD and use my current motherboard and CPU in my old Define R5 as a NAS. I've already started working out a custom SATA backplane and some 3D printed or lasercut brackets to fit 8 or maybe even more 2.5" SSDs in the 2x 3.5" bay in the back of the O11 to run them off a RAID controller or just in a Windows storage pool with a regular SATA or SAS HBA card.
